How hormones make a woman sexual

Females of the absolute majority of animals have sex only when they are capable of conceiving. But at that moment they would not miss their way, and their desire is absolutely obvious to everyone around them: everyone saw the cat in heat. In humans, fortunately, behavioral estrus, that is, a demonstration of readiness for mating at the time of ovulation, is absent (otherwise our social life would be greatly complicated). But women can have sex at any stage of the cycle. This ability was probably a very useful and important evolutionary acquisition — this will be discussed in the next chapters.
Nevertheless, like all other animals, we show maximum willingness to have sex during the very period when conception is most likely. It is almost impossible to establish in the course of surveys, because such small changes in behavior remain unconscious, but it can be checked experimentally.
When Christina Durant of the University of Texas recruited subjects for her doctoral thesis, she told them that this was a study of relationships, fashion and health. Nevertheless, as in almost all studies in which women participate, she specified in a preliminary telephone interview whether a woman takes a pill, whether she has a regular cycle and when she had her last menstruation. After this date, visits to the laboratory for each woman were appointed in such a way that one visit fell on a period of high fertility, and the other on a period of low fertility. To make sure that the calculations are correct, a urine sample was also taken from women - ostensibly to assess general health, but in fact for the sake of analyzing sex hormones. All these spy methods were needed so that women would not know
that they are participating in a study on the effect of ovulation on product selection strategies in stores, otherwise they could (more or less unconsciously) distort the results, guided by their own ideas about whether ovulation should or should not affect behavior.
In the first series of experiments, subjects were imprisoned for a computer with a specially generated page of an online clothing store and asked to choose ten items that they would buy for themselves. The site was attended by things, pre-divided into two groups - "sexual" and "non-sexual." It turned out that ovulation does have a statistically significant effect on the choice of clothes: when averaging the results of all subjects, it turned out that during the period of readiness for conception, their baskets had an average of 59.8% of sexual dresses, and on other days only 51.3%.
In the second series of experiments, Christina Durant and her colleagues figured out why preference for sexy clothes during ovulation is due to the direct desire to impress men or to compete with other women. They scored another group of subjects, but now women were first offered another task: to rank ten photos of other people according to their attractiveness. In this case, a quarter of the subjects evaluated the photos of beautiful women, the quarters got ugly, and the rest assessed men - either attractive or ugly. Immediately after that, the participants proceeded to the next task - the selection of clothes in the online store, as well as in the first part of the study.

How hormones make a woman sexual

  1. Sexual Scope: women’s duty
In general, sexuality appears as a sphere of reproduction, everything that goes beyond its limits - is silent, tabooed, causes a sense of shame in a woman.22 In children and adolescents, knowledge about the field of sexuality is not supposed, except for the knowledge of menstruation. No knowledge of sex life in marriage. Getting knowledge in this area was accompanied by a feeling
  2. The content of hormones in the blood of women, depending on age
    The concentration of protein and steroid hormones in the blood of healthy girls in a neutral period (0-6.5 years) {foto130} * Confidence interval of values taking into account the log-normal distribution of indicators. 741 Table 2 Concentration of triple hormones of the pituitary, steroid hormones and thyroid hormones in the blood of healthy girls of a neutral period (0-6.5 years) {foto131}
  3. Functional sexual disorders in women
Anorgasmia - the absence of orgasm during sexual activity. The frequency of occurrence - 18-40% among women who live sexually for at least 3 years. Alibidemia - a decrease in sexual desire or lack thereof. In 90% of cases, anorgasmia and alibidemia are combined. The main reasons for them are: neuroendocrine disorders; infections; intoxication with drugs, hypnotics, neuroleptics, tranquilizers; head injury
  4. Sexual effects of cultures that have lifted excessive prohibitions on women
In Western societies, we can observe the world of men with significantly reduced sexual aggressiveness. In a conversation with one of the Estonian scientists, I asked, what is the role of a woman as an attractive target, a stimulating motive for a man, in his lands? It became clear that the consciousness of Estonians to a lesser extent than in the East pursues a narrow “goal” - a woman. I asked the second question: “In that case, where did
  5. Hormones as mediators of regulation
Vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone) Place of formation: anterior hypothalamus with further transportation to the pituitary gland. Mediator in osmotic and volumetric regulation. The mechanism of vasopressin formation can be activated by changes in concentration and volume, as well as a number of other factors: - increased release of free vasopressin → antidiurez; influenced by emotional factors
  6. Pituitary adenomas are characterized by increased hormone production. What are these hormones (except for prolactin)?
Adenomas secreting ACTH (Cushin's disease) cause the classic manifestations of Cushing's syndrome: body obesity, moon face, abdominal stretch marks, proximal muscle weakness, hypertension and osteoporosis (Ch. 36). Impaired glucose tolerance occurs frequently, but diabetes mellitus is less common (frequency <20%). Women have girsu-tism, acne and amenorrhea. Adenoma secreting
  7. Women as part of the intelligentsia
Women as part of the national intelligentsia are a phenomenon of the Soviet era. It was during the Soviet period that the socio-cultural community of Tajik women was formed, which was considered the most advanced (progressive) social group compared to women from the working class and peasants. Their main characteristic is that they all had a higher education, a profession and, accordingly, were engaged in
  8. How does breastfeeding protect women's health?
The benefits of breastfeeding for nursing mothers are that the longer a woman breastfeeds, the less she has the risk of developing ovarian cancer and premenopausal breast cancer, as well as osteoporosis (bone disease) and hip fractures in senile
  9. Women soldiers as an object of educational activities in the military unit
In the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation at the beginning of 2002. more than 90 thousand female military personnel, including 2.5 thousand female officers, did military service. Of these, 24 colonels, 167 lieutenant colonels and 542 major. Thirty-four Russian female officers occupy command positions. More than 100 female officers serve in military schools of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and about 150 are trained
  10. And what about anemic women? Does breastfeeding take away their last strength?
No. Anemic women are able to breastfeed quite normally, although it would be best for their own health if they receive treatment. Drinking tea when eating reduces the absorption of iron, so try to drink tea two hours after eating. In fact, exclusive breastfeeding can protect women from anemia because it delays the return of menstruation. Thats
