How to see beyond the numbers

As we have already said, graphics play a huge role in the business world *. Since success and failure are almost always estimated in numbers in this world, it is not surprising that the second most frequent element of business presentations (after the texts) are graphs. There is nothing wrong. The more graphs, the better. However, the problem is that we rely too often on graphics alone, and at some point we come across a misunderstanding of the essence of the business as such. This limits (if not completely blocked) our ability to see a wider picture.
We spent the whole morning exploring with the six ways of seeing the world, which are connected in various ways, allowing you to see the whole picture. And if the graphics are the only way to see something, you need to understand that we see only the answers to the question "how much". Yes, figures denote money, and money is an important thing, but in business there are much more important things happening than the transfer of money from hand to hand. For example, sometimes it is important to understand where the money comes from. To see this, we need a completely new type of picture - a diagram (map).

How to see beyond the numbers

  1. Equalizer: how to see what is happening through the eyes of the audience
Now we are going to use SQVID again, but in a totally different way. Instead of running through five questions and coming up with different ideas, we use this method as a graphic equalizer. We will move the virtual sliders up and down each issue until we find the settings that make our picture as accessible as possible and suitable for those to whom we want it
  2. Limits of autolysis
The process of autolysis definitely has its limits. For example, in the case of a tumor that was allowed to grow to such a large size that it took several long starvations for two years or more, with a strict schedule of food between starvation, to destroy it and absorb, if at all it can be done. Several years ago in Chicago there was a school that taught that when starving
  3. Increased automatism of fibers outside the center of the sinus node
Some substances are capable of selectively enhancing the spontaneous depolarization of latent pacemakers, without affecting or affecting the sinus node to a lesser extent. For example, with a decrease in the extracellular potassium concentration, diastolic depolarization (phase 4) may accelerate in the cells of the subject pacemakers, while the fibers in the center of the sinus node remain relatively insensitive.
  4. DAY 2 SEEING
    DAY 2
  5. Six ways to see
Recent discoveries in the field of neuroscience: it turns out that when looking at the surrounding world, our vision system divides each object into separate types of visual information. They are processed through various "ways of seeing", including (among others) "where", "what" and "how." These simple names perfectly describe the corresponding functions: "where / where" indicates the location of each thing, "what"
  6. Six opportunities to see? So what?
We just learned a pretty big piece of theory. From the beginning of work today we were able to do quite a lot: we created a new coordinate system for a new look at the problems, added six new tools to the set, traveled a bit in the human brain and ended up with pizza. Now, to translate all this into a world of reality and show how all these methods are applied in the field
  7. What we want to see gender relations in our society
The problems raised in this book, one way or another, concern all people, because with whatever biological sex we are born, we belong to a certain culture, which means that we have our own gender. You can be indifferent to politics, you can not profess any of the religions, find it difficult to determine your national identity (if the blood of different ethnic groups flows in the veins), you can, and not
  8. We reproach others for what we do not want to see in ourselves.
That's why we attract those people who show us how we behave with others or with ourselves. Another means of realizing that we reject ourselves or reject another person is shame. Indeed, we experience a sense of shame when we want to hide or hide our behavior. It is normal - to find shameful behavior in which we reproach others. we
  9. How to keep the table and how to work in each case?
    1. With farsightedness (if you wear glasses for near), keep it in front of your eyes at a distance of 15-20 cm. 2. If you have short-sightedness (ie, you wear glasses for distance) - at arm's length. With weak myopia, when at this distance the last line in the table you see well, fix the table on the wall and find your working line. And how to do it, read below. 3. Who is bad
  10. Integral individuality as a result and as a condition of human development
A comprehensive description of the individual properties of a person, V. Merlin, denoted the concept of individual integration, treating it as an object of interdisciplinary research, as an object of study of all the sciences of nature and society. The theory of individual integrality arose in the course of differential psychophysiology, which predetermined its features. According to theory, individual

  12. How to help her husband understand his feelings, not telling him how to act?
My husband had an affair with one woman, but we again came together. After that he twice met with her, it seems, at work, and I told him that he could address his affairs to someone else and not meet with her. If you really want to help your husband understand his feelings, then ask him to share his experiences with you. If you begin to advise him how to act,
  13. How much and how often should we eat?
"The possibility of constant access to food is great," we think and surround ourselves with products so that in our stomach there is always something present throughout the day. We come up with ways to get the harvest cheaper and more. We consider three meals a little for granted, but this is just a social convention (as you will learn in a later chapter). Continuous eating,

  15. Because of unsuccessful love, I developed a psychosomatic disease, namely urinary incontinence. How do I understand my responsibility for this and how to get rid of this disease?
Begin by agreeing that this physical illness is sent to help you understand that your reaction to unsuccessful love is unfit for you. The responsible person is one who admits and recognizes that his physical problem is caused by his mode of existence, by what he internally experiences. Urinary incontinence is usually caused by loss of control on the physical and emotional
  16. How to let my wife know that I'm suffocating from his proprietary feelings towards me? How can I do this without hurting his pride?
The first thing that catches your eye on your question: you want your spouse to understand something. You, no doubt, have a false idea that "to understand is to love." You believe that if you manage to gently let him know that you're suffocating, then he will love you more. You are deeply mistaken. And not much depends on what tactics you choose. You should not do anything
