Gym is the best place to meet people

So, Philip Hedrick of the University of Arizona in the same 1997 analyzes 194 pairs of Indians from different tribes of South America and finds absolutely no evidence of the choice of the spouse for MHC: the genetic similarity between the spouses was no more, but no less than between any two randomly taken by representatives of the same tribe.
In order to understand this contradiction, Rafael Chaix and his colleagues conduct a dual study35: they analyze married couples in the American Mormon religious community (contrary to popular belief, polygamy was never their main form of family organization, and officially the Mormon church abandoned polygamy back in the XIX century) and the African people of Yoruba (the total number is about 30 million people). And again it turns out that the Mormon differences in MHC genes between spouses are very serious, but among the Yoruba - no more than the average for the population. Chaix offers several explanations for this fact, from the social pressure that dictates the choice of the spouse, regardless of its attractiveness, and to the hypothesis that among Africans the prevalence of certain specific diseases is so great that it is necessary to choose MHC genes that increase resistance to them even if they are look like your own. But he also emphasizes that the overall level of diversity in MHC genes among the Yoruba people is much higher than among the relatively small Mormons, and mechanisms can be included that force us to choose a partner remote from these genes, but not as much as possible, but in an intermediate degree . This is indirectly confirmed by the experimental data of Martha McClintock (yes, she is not only engaged in pheromones) - she and her colleagues presented women with the smell of sweat of men of different nationalities and found that the most attractive seem to be those people with whom there is no similarity at all, and those , with which there is a similarity, but small, for example, one gene out of ten examined. It's funny that women like the coincidence with men for those MHC-genes that they inherited from their father, not from their mother (I immediately tried on myself, of course: you think all your life that you love Israel for its history and culture, and then you stumble in the night on a study, from which it follows that you may just like the smell of MHC genes characteristic of the Jewish people).
Anyway, a slight similarity in MHC-genes is not scary, and maybe even good. But a significant intersection in them in a married couple is considered today as one of the possible causes of infertility: it is believed that the female's immune system can not form an adequate relation to the developing fetus if it is not sufficiently different from its own cells. A large body of statistical data on this issue was collected, for example, at the University of Barcelona. In one study, the researchers compared 50 infertile couples who took advantage of in vitro fertilization and received children from the first attempt, and 50 infertile couples who were not helped by ECO: the pregnancy did not occur, although they were at least three attempts37. It was found out that in the second group there is a marked coincidence of two (or more) MHC-genes. The authors, however, emphasize that this may not be a direct cause of infertility, but an indirect sign of some other problems, because coincidences on MHC are found, although less frequently, in the first group (which was helped by IVF), and among people not experiencing difficulties with conception. In general, do not worry much. But it makes sense to get a good sniffing at your future husband (having canceled before that oral contraceptives that distort perception). Even if it is not important for conception, it's still better to live with a man who smells delicious, and not with some kind of stink.

Gym is the best place to meet people

  1. The importance of the collective for teenagers and their desire to find a place in it
We have already said that the collectives of the V-VIII classes occupy a different place in the squad and school than the collectives of the primary classes. The teenagers are the main asset of the Pioneer squad and play a leading role in the pioneer self-government. And this is understandable: younger schoolchildren can not yet be in such a role, since this requires much more intellectual and personal maturity. Life of the school
  2. Laughter is the best medicine for breastfeeding
One evening in the parents' seminar we were asked what it takes to be happy parents. We answered: "Sense of humor." Here are excerpts from our collection of breastfeeding stories: During lovemaking my nipples parted like a sprinkler and my husband got directly into the eye. I breastfed while I was at friends in the dormitory of the college. Several women were sitting around and
  3. Step 1. Acquaintance. Presentation of a personal gender image
Participants (students and presenter) sit in the classroom in a circle. The host of the lesson offers everyone to introduce themselves in an arbitrary manner: to name the name that the participant prefers as an appeal to himself, one adjective that most closely characterizes the participant's personality from his / her point of view, and also tells a little about himself (which he considers necessary for the presentation of his public I).
  4. DAY THREE - Familiarity with yourself
Two grapes taste the same as one. What difference does it make, how many of them will there be, if all of them turn into a memory in a minute? Our new task: we'll figure out if we really want to eat when we're going to eat something. At the same time we will find out how much we actually eat. This work falls entirely on our tiny notebook and pen, which must always be at hand. When I
  5. Stage 2. Introduction to the concept of gender manipulation
Purpose: to study the specificity of gender manipulation. Studying the conditions that affect the development of manipulation in relationships, based on the personal experience of students. Task 1. "Working with an example of gender manipulation" (an example of gender manipulation is given in the appendix). The teacher distributes to students the sheets printed earlier with a description of an example of manipulation, taken from literature, and suggests with him
  6. Getting to know SQVID, or Practical exercise in applied imagination
SQVID is a simple mechanical rule consisting of letters SQVID. Each of the letters denotes one of five questions that we can ask ourselves to activate the eyes of thinking and think about the possibilities. I used the example of opening a bottle, but SQVID activates our brains in all cases when we want to imagine something. SQVID can be considered a kind of
  7. Stage 2. Introduction to the text "An Example of Early Gender Socialization"
The teacher read out the text "An Example of Early Gender Socialization" to students (see annex). To analyze the text, the teacher can ask students the following questions. 1. What attitudes of perception of the grandson and granddaughter are reflected in the statements of the grandfather and grandmother? 2. What psychological mechanisms of gender socialization will be actively used by the grandfather and grandmother (the participants of the described
  8. Step 2. Acquaintance with the main stages of the development of sexological knowledge
Many traditional cultures attached great importance to erotic issues, but only modern Western society developed the science of sexuality - sexology. M. Foucault in his famous work "The History of Sexuality" showed that erotic pleasure becomes sexuality when it begins to explore, analyze, write about it scientific texts, treatises, textbooks. The notion of "sexuality"
  9. My husband was the youngest child in the family and before our acquaintance lived with his mother. When he was just a child, their father abandoned his family.
Now his mother does not accept me and reproaches me for everything, even sometimes calls me a liar and ill-bred. I understand that my husband can not but visit my mother, but I can not agree with his demand to visit and respect her too. What should I do? From what you have said, it follows that your spouse and mother-in-law suffer from an oedipal complex. Their relations are built more like a "man-woman" type, than by type
  10. The place of psychology in the system of sciences
In the XIX century, the classification of sciences, developed by the creator of the philosophy of positivism, the French scientist O. Comte, was very popular. In Comte's classification there was no place for psychology at all. The father of positivism believed that psychology had not yet become a positive science. For the first half of the XIX century, this statement was generally fair. • Since then, much has changed: psychology
  11. The place of the branch in the national economy
Depending on the characteristic features underlying the formation of the industry - from the purpose of production and the level of public demand for it, the nature of the raw materials used, the technology used, the place of the branch in the national economy is determined, which is estimated by the combination of a number of factors: • the share of the gross domestic product being produced; share of the national
  12. Our place under the sun
How to settle in the house of your dreams? To many, this seems to be a completely unrealizable fantasy, and they continue to tolerate unloved walls. But our Wizards, those who believed in their own strength and started their game, the house succeeds! It's the one who wanted ... Soloist. Very well helps such a trick (this is me from personal experience). Sit in a row, podgutarit ladokom, draw a detailed scheme of their own
