Gym - the best place to explore

So, Philip Hedrick from the University of Arizona in the same 1997 analyzes 194 pairs of Indians from different tribes of South America and finds absolutely no evidence of the choice of a spouse on the MHC: the genetic similarity between spouses was no more, but no less than between any two randomly taken representatives of the same tribe.
To understand this controversy, Rafael Chaix and his colleagues are conducting a dual study35: they analyze married couples in the American religious community of Mormons (contrary to popular belief, polygamy has never been their main form of family organization, and officially the Mormon church rejected polygamy as early as XIX century) and the African people Yoruba (total number - about 30 million people). And again it turns out that among the Mormons, the differences in the MHC genes between the spouses are very serious, but among the Yorubas - no more than the average for the population. Chaix offers several explanations for this fact, from social pressure that imposes the choice of a spouse regardless of its attractiveness, and to the hypothesis that among the Africans the prevalence of certain specific diseases is so high that you need to choose MHC genes that increase their resistance to them, similar to your own. But he also emphasizes that the overall level of diversity for MHC genes among the Yoruba people is much higher than among relatively few Mormons, and mechanisms may be included that force us to choose a partner distant by these genes, but not as much as possible. . This is indirectly confirmed by the experimental data of Martha McClintock (yes, she not only deals with pheromones) - she and her colleagues presented women with the smell of sweat from men of different nationalities and found that the most attractive people are not those with whom there is no resemblance. with which there is a similarity, but small, for example, one gene out of ten studied. It's funny that women like coexistence with men more by the MHC genes that they inherited from their father, not from their mother (I immediately tried on myself, of course: so you’ve been thinking all your life that you love Israel dearly for its history and culture, and then you come across a study in the night, from which it follows that you might just like the smell of the MHC genes characteristic of the Jewish people).
Anyway, a slight similarity in MHC-genes is not terrible, and maybe even good. But a significant intersection of them in a married couple is considered today as one of the possible causes of infertility: it is believed that a woman’s immune system cannot form an adequate attitude to a developing fetus if it is not sufficiently different from its own cells. A large amount of statistical data on this issue was collected, for example, at the University of Barcelona. In one of the works, the researchers compared 50 infertile couples who took advantage of in vitro fertilization and received thanks to him the children from the first attempt, and 50 infertile couples that did not help IVF: the pregnancy did not occur, although they went through at least three attempts37. It turned out that in the second group, coincidence in two (or more) MHC genes is noticeably more common. The authors, however, emphasize that this may not be a direct cause of infertility, but an indirect sign of some other problems, because coincidences on the MHC are found, although less often, in the first group (which helped IVF), and among people having difficulty conceiving. In general, do not worry much. But it makes sense to smell well to your future husband (having canceled before this oral contraceptives that distort perception). Even if it does not matter for conception, it is still better to live with a person who smells delicious, and not with some kind of stinker.

Gym - the best place to explore

  1. The value of the team for teens and their desire to find their place in it
We have already said that the collectives of the 5th — 8th grades occupy a different place in the squad and school than the collectives of the primary classes. Teenage pupils constitute the main asset of the pioneer squad and play a leading role in pioneering self-government. And this is understandable: junior schoolchildren cannot yet be in such a role, since this requires much greater intellectual and personal maturity. School life
  2. Laughter is the best medicine for breastfeeding.
One evening at the parents' seminar, we were asked what it takes to be happy parents. We answered: "Sense of humor." Here are excerpts from our collection of breastfeeding stories: During lovemaking, my nipples parted like a sprinkler and caught my husband right in the eye. I was breastfeeding, being with friends in college dormitory. Several women sat around and
  3. Stage 1. Acquaintance. Presentation of a personal gender image
Participants (students and presenter) sit in the audience in a circle. The leader of the class offers everyone to introduce themselves in an arbitrary manner: give the name that the participant prefers as an address to himself, one adjective, the most succinctly characterizing the participant’s personality from his / her point of view, and also to tell a little about himself (which he considers necessary for the presentation of his public I).
  4. DAY THREE - ACQUAINTANCE WITH YOURSELF
Two grapes taste the same as one. What does it matter how many they will be if they all turn into a memory in a minute? Our new task: let's see if we really want to eat when we are going to eat something. At the same time find out how much we actually eat. This work rests entirely on our tiny notebook and pen, which should always be at hand. When I
  5. Stage 2. Acquaintance with the concept of gender manipulation
Objective: study the specifics of gender manipulation. The study of conditions affecting the development of manipulation in relationships, based on the personal experience of students. Task 1. “Working with an example of gender manipulation” (an example of gender manipulation is given in the appendix). The teacher distributes to students the previously printed sheets describing an example of manipulation taken from the literature and suggests with him
  6. Acquaintance with SQVID, or Practical exercise in applied imagination
SQVID is a simple mechanical rule consisting of letters SQVID. Each letter represents one of the five questions that we can ask ourselves to activate the eyes of thinking and think about the possibilities. I used the example of opening the bottle, but SQVID activates our brains in all cases when we want to imagine something. SQVID can be considered a kind
  7. Stage 2. Acquaintance with the text “Example of early gender socialization”
The teacher reads the text “An example of early gender socialization” to students (see the appendix). For text analysis, the teacher can ask students the following questions. 1. What attitudes of the grandson and granddaughter's perception are reflected in the statements of the grandfather and grandmother? 2. What psychological mechanisms of gender socialization will be actively used by grandparents (participants described
  8. Stage 2. Acquaintance with the main stages of the development of sexological knowledge
Many traditional cultures attached great importance to eroticism, but only modern Western society developed the science of sexuality - sexology. M. Foucault in his famous work “The History of Sexuality” showed that erotic pleasure becomes sexuality when it is begun to explore, analyze, write about him scientific texts, treatises, textbooks. The concept of "sexuality"
  9. My spouse was the youngest child in the family and before our acquaintance he lived with his mother. When he was just a kid, their father left the family.
Now his mother does not accept me and blames me for everything, even sometimes calls me a liar and ill-mannered. I understand that the spouse cannot but visit the mother, but I cannot agree with his demand to visit and respect her too. What should I do? From what you said it follows that your spouse and mother-in-law suffer from an oedipal complex. Their relationship is built on the type of "man - woman" than the type
  10. Place of psychology in the system of sciences
In the 19th century, the classification of sciences developed by the creator of the philosophy of positivism, the French scientist O. Comte, was very popular. In Comte's classification, there was no place for psychology at all. The father of positivism believed that psychology was not yet a positive science. For the first half of the XIX century, this statement was generally fair. • Since then, much has changed: psychology
  11. Place the industry in the national economy
Depending on the characteristics that form the basis of industry formation - on the purpose of products and the level of social need for it, the nature of the raw materials used, the technology used, the industry’s place in the national economy is determined, which is assessed by the combination of a number of factors: • the share of gross domestic product produced, • share of nationally produced
  12. Our place is under the sun
How to stay in your dream home? To many, this seems to be a completely unrealizable fantasy, and they continue to endure unloved walls. But our Wizards, those who believed in their own strength and started their game, succeed at home! It was the one who wanted ... Soloist. Such a trick helps very well (I am from personal experience). Sit down in a row, exercise a hand, draw a detailed diagram of your own
