So when are we going to draw pictures?
You may have noticed that we have already walked several times using the SQVID model, but have not yet drawn anything. This is normal: the meaning of SQVID work in half is to make us think about visual options. The exercise we have just completed has shifted so many gears in the eyes of our thinking and has used so many neurons that we are more than ready to bring a pen to paper and start using people to convince people that they need to support us.
Before you do this, let's look at the tools again. Any of them - the 6x6 rules or SQVID - taken separately, is quite enough to clarify the problem. If we cannot solve the problem with a swoop, then we will slow down and break it into six visual elements, and then we will study them in turn. If we have only one idea in our minds, we turn to SQVID to uncork our imagination and allow new ideas to float freely.

So when are we going to draw pictures?
- How can we draw “human” pictures for business?
So, getting closer to the end of our seminar, let's talk about what is never discussed at business meetings. Throw out your presentation pages with clearly marked and boring lists of questions and show hand-drawn pictures instead. And even better - draw these pictures right at the meeting. Forward! Meetings and meetings should not be predictably boring *! * Say it
- Picture 4: “when” = time line
The suprachiasmatic nucleus measures changes in the light seen by our eyes and transmits information to the hypothalamus, which (besides many other functions) controls the work of our biological clocks. Did you know that in our vision system there is a part that keeps an eye on whether there is darkness around *? She uses this information to tell us exactly when to go to bed. If a
- In my family, I do everything: home, buying food, children, their upbringing, their education. I do not understand why only I should deal with all this. My husband says that when a woman does everything, it is in the order of things. But then he is responsible for this, isn’t he?
It depends on the commitments that you made together before the birth of children. Did you discuss the consequences of having children in your family? Who wanted them? Suppose you really wanted to have children, but your husband told you: “I don’t want to have children, but if it’s so important to you, then fine. You can have children, I do not mind, because you will be engaged in them. " If between you was achieved
- What we will do
Since that way of life and the way of eating led us to our present position, it would be logical to change both of them. Then we will happily come with you to healthy skin, vigorous well-groomed body and a fresh flowering look. If someone thinks that this is a special diet, after which it will be possible to blink again on the sofa and go into food binge - you are mistaken.
- Start: get ready to paint
About a year ago, I attended a business meeting, which proved to me (literally in one day) that all my thoughts regarding the possibilities of pictures are absolutely true. This meeting not only perfectly illustrated the idea of how useful it is to think about business, to use pictures, but also that pictures could provide (which did not happen) a different result. Last summer
- ABSTRACT ON VALOLOGY FOR CHILDREN OF SENIOR PRESCHOOL AGE "WHEN VEGETABLES CAN HELP, AND WHEN CAN HARM OUR HEALTH?"
Program content: 1. To form children's ideas about nitrates. 2. Tell about what plants they are in, what harm they cause to health. 3. To fix the ability of children to solve riddles in pictures. 4. Continue to consolidate the knowledge of children about the benefits of vitamins for our body. Benefits: 1. homemade doll Vitamin Eater (who loves vitamins), 2. cards with
- Your turn to draw cards
Work out the following two exercises - draw maps showing combinations of different objects. Variant of the map І: Saving of time. Fix this watch - draw each of the elements on the right place. Map 2: What to save and what to refuse (continued) Remember the list of objects “who and what” from the example with the manufacturer of prepacked products? I added a few to it
- Drawings to solve business problems: how to draw?
It is much more important to take the first step and at least draw something on the sheet than to think long and hard about it. You can start with a circle, and then assign a name to it. Even minimal visualization animates objects and makes them more memorable. “Who / what” portrait • The simpler, the better - wire the idea. • Revive lists of thumbnails. • Add a title, names and titles to
- Your pictures "why." Theme and Variations
I. Simple Truth Draw a simple “pretty good” portrait showing why visual thinking is a powerful way to solve problems. My solution is given in the appendix on p. 374. 2. Scientific scheme Create a simple multi-factor scheme that can illustrate one or two connections between the following data sets: the proportion of participants in a typical business meeting,
- When I go out for a walk alone or with a girlfriend, my husband always blames me or sulks me. Sometimes I still go out for a walk, and sometimes not. Somehow, I feel ill at ease. If I go out for a walk, I feel guilty. If I do not go out for a walk, then I feel unhappy. I know I give in to guilt, but I can't help it. What do i do?
It is clear that your husband only openly expresses what is already happening in you. He is part of you, who says that a good wife should not go out without her husband. However, there is another part of you that sometimes wants to go out with someone else. Apparently, the first part is stronger and wins more often. Make contact with these two parts in you and ask them to come to an agreement and
- Your second “how” picture
Flowchart 2. One click Arrange the elements in places so that they create a logical flowchart, and then write down the solution obtained for the “how” problem. My solution is given in the appendix on p. 373. It can be noted that in this example we often use the concepts of “if” and “that”: if Tom is hungry, then we feed him; if we want to help a client increase its market share, then we must
- A practice that allows you to create perfect pictures.
So, we are at the finish line. Having basic tools for visual problem solving, we are ready to take whiteboards and pens and get started in the real business world. If you are worried about where to start, let me offer you a mantra that I wrote on a Post-it notepad ten years ago and since then I always keep it in front of my eyes: I will use pictures whenever
- When I, the mother of the family, allow the children to take responsibility, I have the feeling that I am an indifferent mother who doesn't give a damn about her children. I'm afraid they will also judge me when they grow up. What is the reason for this fear?
First of all, ask your children to give you their definition of indifference. Here is my definition: an indifferent person is a person who doesn’t care anything, who doesn’t feel anything and is not touched by others. Do you really consider yourself an indifferent mother? Do you really believe that? To teach your children to take responsibility - this is the best gift you can give them.
- Picture 5: “how” - block diagram
Our brain loves to build models of the surrounding world. The world is a rather difficult place, and the presence of mental models helps us navigate through it. In essence, the only way we live each day of life is to use simple intuitive models (in order to live, I have to eat), combined with models developed by our brain in childhood (if I
- Building diagrams with pictures.
In addition to the usual fills (fill color), Excel charts can also use special types of fills - gradient fills, patterns, texture, drawings. The use of fills and textures is shown in one of the above figures in this chapter. In order to use a special fill, you need to press the “Fill Methods” button on the “Format of the diagram” window, and then
- Picture 2: “how much” - the schedule
Problems like "how much" are directly related to numbers. How many units have we sold? Do we have enough money to make it to the end of the quarter? What happens in the stock market? These kinds of questions, loading our way of seeing "how much", make us constantly count (or at least try to count) the objects around us. Examples of “how many” problems: I am a financial analyst,
