Inflammation of the patella and other self-diagnosis

The story of Jerome K. Jerome "Three in a boat, not counting a dog" begins with a tragic story of how the hero read the medical encyclopedia and found the symptoms of all the diseases that were described in it, except for inflammation of the patella. If you are subject to the same effect and are already confident that you are depressed, then I can reassure you: most likely it is not. If you really had a real serious clinical depression, then you would have all your free time lying face to face, rather than reading popular science books. Well, or at least you are a heroic person - that's good too.
Nevertheless, many questionnaires have been developed, which allow one to more or less objectively assess the current state of mind. I worked with one of them at the university while writing a diploma. Actually, I just presented my subjects with all sorts of sounds and examined their encephalograms, but depression can disrupt interhemispheric asymmetry and distort results, so I selected only happy people for my diploma (and by the way, it was much more complicated than I thought - according to the results of the questionnaire, then a bunch of people were eliminated, including myself).
So, I offer to the attention of the most respectable public Bek's scale, one of the tests for the pre-medical evaluation of the severity of depression - in the version of the translation used at the Department of Higher Nervous Activity of St. Petersburg State University. The point is that in each group of statements one must choose the one that best describes your state for the last week, including today. Before making a choice, you need to read all the statements. If you can not choose one of the statements in any way, you are allowed to mark two at once (although this does not usually happen). I would not advise you to cover statements directly in the book, if you do not plan to throw it out right after reading it, it's not that I feel sorry for it, but suddenly you will want to pass this test six months later?

If you did not simply flip through the Beck questionnaire, but chose the answers, now you need to calculate the amount of points - they correspond to the numbers of statements. If you scored 0-9 points, you are doing well.
If you scored 20 points or more, then it may be about depression. This by no means means that I'm trying to diagnose you. This means that it will be very good if you can find in yourself the willingness to go to a consultation with a psychotherapist - at least once, just in case. The fact that depression - it's like a dust bag, put on your head, which is very difficult to remove, because it is almost impossible to notice without help. It may turn out that in fact your life is much better than you currently think - just at some point, a few months ago, in an attempt to cope with moderate but frequent stresses, your brain did not balance and fell into hyperactivation of the hypothalamus-pituitary - the adrenal axis, and now you suffer because of it, although you do not have to do it at all.
The most interesting result is from 10 to 19 points. In this situation, you do not yet have depression, but you run the risk of pleasing it. The good news is that you do not need to go to the doctor yet - you still have the strength to improve your life on your own. And it makes sense to put it on the list of priorities, even if you have a lot of work - if only because if you are depressed, the work will suffer too.

Inflammation of the patella and other self-diagnosis

  1. INFLAMMATION: DEFINITION, ESSENCE, BIOLOGICAL VALUE. MEDIATORS OF INFLAMMATION. LOCAL AND GENERAL STAGES OF INFLAMMATION. ACUTE INFLAMMATION: ETIOLOGY, PATHOGENESIS. MORPHOLOGICAL STATEMENT OF EXODUSIVE INFLAMMATION. OUTCOME OF ACUTE INFLAMMATION
Inflammation is a biological, and at the same time, key all-pathological process, the expediency of which is determined by its protective-adaptive function aimed at eliminating the damaging agent and restoring the damaged tissue. In medicine, to mark inflammation to the name of the organ in which the inflammatory process develops, add the ending "it" - myocarditis, bronchitis,
  2. Feeding the baby from the calyx
Cups are much safer than bottles. Bottles for feeding do not need to be used. Never use bottles for feeding in hospitals. They are offered to mothers who believe that the bottles are safe. Advantages of cups - They are easy to wash with soap and water if boiling is impossible. - Probability of reproduction in them of bacteria is less, than in small bottles. - They can not be left near
  3. Inflammation. Definition, essence, mediators of inflammation. Local and general manifestations of exudative inflammation, morphological manifestations of exudative inflammation. The acute phase response. Ulcerative necrotic reactions during inflammation.
    1. The main processes that develop in the body in response to tissue damage are 1. amyloidosis 2. inflammation 3. regeneration 4. formation of granulomas 5. hyperplasia of ultrastructure of cells 2. Inflammation is 1. hyperplasia of ultrastructure of cells 2. restoration of lost structures 3 unrestrained growth of cellular elements 4. exudative-proliferative reaction to damage 5. cellular
  4. Operations on the knee joint
The most common operations on the knee joint are arthroscopy and total endoprosthetics. Arthroscopy of the knee joint Preoperative period Arthroscopy has revolutionized the surgery of many joints - knee, shoulder, ankle, wrist joints. Arthroscopy is usually performed on an outpatient basis. Most arthroscopy of the knee joint is performed in young
  5. Lesson 14. Studying of gender characteristics of the person by a method of psychological self-diagnostics
Objectives: acquaintance with the methods, allowing to study gender characteristics of the person; development of skills to analyze their own gender characteristics. The lesson is designed for 6-8 hours. The exact time depends on how much attention the facilitator should give to the theoretical information. During the practical lesson, participants are invited, under the guidance of the facilitator, to fill out a set of questionnaires for
  6. Osteoarthritis of the knee joints (gonarthrosis)
In many cases, it is secondary and is caused more often by violations of the anatomical axis of the shin. Osteoarthritis is characterized by pain when walking on the stairs and any other loads on this joint: standing on the knees, squatting, etc. For osteoarthritis between the femoral and tibia, pain typical of a long walk and stagnation is typical. When viewed on this
  7. Anesthesia in the knee joint area
Anatomy. The sciatic nerve almost in half of the cases reaches the upper corner of the popliteal fossa already divided into a large tibia and a common small tibial nerve. 45. Blockade of the nerve nerve. you. The tibia is located along the projection of the bisector of the upper corner of the popliteal rhombus. When the shin is rotated, its projection relative to the edges of the rhombus can be displaced within 1 cm. Below
  8. How much milk to give to the child through a tube or from a calyx
The first day of a child's life A child should be given 60 ml of milk per kilogram of weight. The entire amount of milk should be divided into eight feedings and fed the child every three hours. The second day The child should be given 80 ml per kilogram of weight. Third day The child should be given 100 ml per kilogram of body weight. From the fourth to the seventh day Every day, increase the daily amount of milk by 20
  9. Valeological methods of self-diagnosis. Hold a sample with breathing (tests by Stange, Genci) and test Rufieu. Rate results
Diagnosis is a section of medicine that studies methods and principles of establishing health. "Diagnosis" in translation from ancient Greek means "recognition," "definition." Thus, the diagnosis - diagnosis - a special kind of medical activity, which has a number of common features with scientific knowledge. In this case, the doctor acts as a subject of cognition, and the patient, having signs of disease, - the object
  10. Productive and chronic inflammation. Granulomatosis. Morphology of specific and nonspecific inflammation.
    1. Chronic inflammation is manifested by a simultaneous combination of 1. Inadequate repair 2. Angiogenesis, scarring 3. Reactive changes 4. Damage to tissues 5. Embolism 2. Causes of chronic inflammation 1. Acute infection 2. Persistent infection 3. Prolonged exposure to toxic substances 3. Chronic inflammation characterized by 1. deposition of amyloid 2. mononuclear infiltration
  11. The course of inflammation. Acute and chronic inflammation
The course of inflammation is determined by the reactivity of the organism, the type, strength, and duration of the action of the phlogogen. There are acute, subacute and chronic inflammation. Acute inflammation is characterized by: - intensive course and relatively small (usually 1-2, maximum up to 4-6 weeks) duration (depending on the damaged organ or tissue, degree and extent of their alteration,
  12. General Information on Inflammation of Acute Inflammation
Inflammation is a complex, local and general pathological process that arises in response to damage or the action of a pathogenic stimulus and manifests itself in reactions aimed at eliminating the damage products, and if possible also the agents (stimuli), and also resulting in the maximum recovery for these conditions in the area of damage. Inflammation, has a protective-adaptive
  13. Proliferation and outcomes of inflammation. Types of inflammation
Inflammation always begins with damage and death of cells. But at a certain stage, when the processes of elimination of damage, cleansing from all the deceased, alien to the body enter into force, infiltration, suppuration and the associated processes of proteolysis and necrosis are suspended and recovery processes come to the fore. In accordance with this, the cellular composition of the inflammatory
  14. Nutrition with exacerbation of liver inflammation and acute inflammation of the gallbladder
Nutrition is recommended for patients with acute cholecystitis and hepatitis, chronic cholecystitis and hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver with moderately expressed hepatic insufficiency, cholelithiasis, as well as with simultaneous lesion of the liver and bile ducts, stomach and intestines. The food is cooked on water or steam, rubbed. Products that enhance the processes of fermentation and putrefaction in
  15. Recommended products for exacerbation of inflammation of the liver and acute inflammation of the gallbladder
Recommended: yesterday's wheat bread; soups are cooked on mucous broth with mashed cereals, vegetables or on vegetable broths with finely chopped vegetables - potatoes, carrots, zucchini, pumpkin, boiled rice, manna, oatmeal, noodles, you can add egg-milk mixture to soups, which is prepared the connection of a raw egg with an equal volume of milk, and fill
  16. Features of the development of the inflammatory reaction, depending on the localization of inflammation, the reactivity of the organism, the nature of the etiologic factor. The role of age in the development of inflammation
Regardless of the localization of the inflammatory process and the origin of the etiological factor in the acute inflammation zone, a standard set of vascular and tissue changes always occurs. The reaction from tissues to the effect of the damaging factor is phase-like and manifests itself by alteration, exudation and proliferation. Simultaneously with tissue disorders, a complex of vascular
  17. General characteristics and mechanisms of development of vascular reactions in the acute inflammatory focus. Mechanisms of activation of thrombus formation in the focus of inflammation
As you know, acute inflammation is characterized by a certain sequence of vascular changes, manifested by the development of vasospasm, arterial, venous hyperemia and stasis. Spasm of blood vessels is a short-term reaction. Spasm can last from a few seconds (with easy tissue damage) and up to several minutes (with severe damage). However, such a reaction of blood vessels in the hearth
  18. INFLAMMATION
Inflammation = a complex vascular-mesenchymal reaction to damage caused by the action of various agents. • Inflammation is a protective-adaptive reaction, directed: a) on the delineation of the site of damage; b) to destroy (neutralize) agents that caused inflammation; c) restoration of damaged tissues (repair). • In addition to positive, inflammation has and
