And your milk ran away ...

The fact is that it is at this time of day that the level of prolactin, the hormone responsible for milk production, is the highest in the woman’s blood.
If you answered “no” to all the questions, most likely you managed to organize breastfeeding correctly, and the decrease in milk secretion is due to other reasons.
This may be a lactation crisis - a temporary physiological decrease in the amount of milk, usually associated with an uneven (stepwise) increase in the energy needs of the child. Duration of lactation crisis - 3-4 days, at least 6-8 days.
For a healthy and well-fed baby, lactation crises are not dangerous. If the mother is attentive to the needs of the baby, she simply increases at this time the number of attachments and the duration of the feedings - in response to the child’s increased appetite and increase in his sucking activity. In most cases, this quickly leads to the required increase in lactation.
The reasons for a temporary decrease in milk secretion may also be physical fatigue of the mother, nervous tension, or anxiety. In this case, you can not do without the help of loved ones - they should, if possible, free the woman from domestic work, show participation and attention to her. And in this case it is also worth increasing the frequency and duration of attachment of the child to the breast.
In all these cases, the question of stimulating lactation or the supplement of the child is decided individually, 6–8 days after the discovery of a temporary milk deficiency. And the mother cannot solve this question on her own.
How soon?
Starting to take actions to preserve and increase lactation, mothers sometimes expect immediate results. However, the human body is not an automaton, and the improvement is gradual, over several weeks (if, of course, breastfeeding is adjusted correctly). Weight gain depends on many factors and its absence does not always mean that there is not enough milk. This may be the child’s response to improperly organized care, a tense atmosphere in the family, a pause before the next increase, or maybe the child is sick.
Dear Moms! I beg you to listen to my advice:
1. Do not put yourself a diagnosis of "lack of milk", contact a specialist (consultant for lactation). Remember that you have a 97% chance of making a mistake!
2. If you start to change something in your attitude to breastfeeding, follow any of the recommendations read, be sure to consult with those who have already done this, consult a breastfeeding consultant or at least an experienced mother who has breastfed more than one child. It is impossible to establish breastfeeding from books and films - this experience is transmitted from mother to mother only through direct contact.
3. If you are trying to increase the amount of milk and are doing everything possible for this, do not rush to despair at the first failures, have patience, and you will succeed.
Stories from the practice of consultants:
Like without water?
Katya turned to a dairy consultant with a complaint about a lack of milk: her daughter did not put on weight at all by 2 months. What a surprise the consultant was when it turned out that Katya was actively supplementing the child with some water - up to 500 g per day. She believed that she was feeding her daughter on demand, but most of the child’s requirements were satisfied by water. Feeling a sense of false satiety, the child, appearing at the breast, sucked sluggishly, inactively and, of course, did not receive enough food.
It cost Katya, on the advice of a consultant, to stop watering her daughter with water, as the picture has changed dramatically. The girl began to suck a lot and often. After counting wet diapers in just two days, Katya found that the child was sucking enough milk (10 wet diapers per day). A week later, the whole family was surprised - the girl added 200g at once! Now the girl is 6 months old, and Katya continues to breastfeed her.
She does not fall asleep
Marina called in a fright: her girl does not eat enough. When she arrived, the consultant saw a three-week-old girl sleeping peacefully and a frightened mother: “She will wake up now, eat a little, and then stop!”. Indeed, the girl woke up, took her breast, sucked for 20 minutes and happily lay back, smiling at her mother. “Well, what is this? - Marina was worried. “See, she hasn't had enough.” "Why do you think so?". “She is not falling asleep!”. From further conversation, it turned out that Marina was used to the fact that her daughter fell asleep immediately after feeding. When the girl did not do this for the first time, Marina decided that she did not have enough milk. The consultant explained to Marina that her daughter was simply more curious than the children of her age. She definitely needs a little “walk” before going to bed - look at her mother, smile, talk, etc. After that, she is likely to eat a little more and fall asleep. As you get older, the time of the “walk” will increase and you should not be afraid of it. On the contrary, it is worth to be happy for such a developed girl.
You are deceiving us!
For the first month, Lena's son did not add a single gram, he managed to lie down with his mother in the hospital. He was lured by the mixture, but this did not improve the situation. Periodically, the baby sucked at the breast, although without much sense. After learning mothers to properly attach, the baby took the breast in a way that it never took. “So this is how he should suck!” Lena was surprised.
Son did not let my mother 20 hours. Periodically, he was dozing, but he didn’t let the nipple out of his mouth, and if they tried to remove him, he immediately began to suck. “I got hungry, poor fellow,” the homeworkers decided. From that day, everything slowly went smoothly. Lena learned how to take care of the baby - bathing, swaddling, wearing on her hands. The first two weeks the baby gained only 60 g. But even that was a huge achievement compared to the monthly weight loss. The next two weeks, the gain was 120 g per week. For the third month, the child added 1kg 200g.
The doctor of the children's clinic said: “You are deceiving us! In breast milk, it can not add so much - because you did not have milk, where did it come from? ”. Lena only smiled - she was no longer afraid of breastfeeding problems.

And your milk ran away ...

  1. Foodborne Disease Infections Caused by You. cereus
In recent decades, reports of foodborne disease outbreaks caused by you have begun to appear. cereus. Disputes you. cereus have thermal stability, withstand heating to 105-125 ° C for 10-13 minutes, and is well preserved at low temperatures to —20 ° C. The optimum temperature for growth is 30 ° C, but spores can germinate from 3-5 ° C to 59— 70 ° C. The microbe can grow at
  2. “Baby blues” is not for you!
Can anyone be happier than a woman who has given birth, nursing and loving her baby? Why is it so often you can see the tears of despair in the eyes of young mothers? The fact is that during pregnancy the level of female sex hormones reaches the maximum level in a woman’s entire life. And immediately after the birth of the afterbirth, the level of these substances is significantly reduced. In this regard, many mothers celebrate
  3. What is your smile?
Psychologist Paul Ekman from the University of California has been studying a person’s smile for many years and counted eighteen options for smiles - from spontaneous sincere (for example, at the sight of a loved one) to forced (in a dentist’s), and which of the forty-three muscles contract in each case. A fake smile is asymmetrical, more pronounced on the left side of right-handers and
  4. Questions you may have
FEEDING THROUGH DREAM Our ten-month-old baby refuses to sleep in the morning and usually does not sleep more than half an hour during the day. I know that he needs to sleep, and me too. Help! Everyone, both parents and children, need a dream. Since you cannot make a child sleep, you can create conditions that will make the child fall asleep. At the age of about a year, the child will be able to refuse
  5. What awaits you ahead?
I would like to constantly hear about a favorable prognosis, a cure, or at least a stabilization of blood pressure for a long time. But alas. More often, we hear about poor condition, terrible complications and even death. Drugs are replaced by others, sometimes the doctors themselves change, but the patient remains in the same place: the state of health is Poor, the diagnosis of “essential hypertension” is not removed.
  6. Questions you may have
    Questions you may have
  7. Should I give advice if a person does not ask for anything about you?
Usually this should not be done. It is better to wait when a person asks for it. But sometimes it is very difficult to see someone in a difficult situation or to experience his troubles, especially if it is someone from our loved ones. We want him to be all right, and that in itself is good. However, it is obvious that if a person does not turn to us for advice, we nonetheless give him
  8. What does the sacrament of marriage mean to you?
In my understanding, marriage symbolizes the decision of a person to fulfill his innermost desire - to achieve harmony between the two principles of his essence, male and female. Consciously or unconsciously, we all strive for this harmony. Only with the harmonious combination of these two of our beginnings do we feel happy. We say that we are looking for happiness, but most of all we want to be loved. We only then
  9. Questions you may have while preparing for breastfeeding
ANXIETY ABOUT BREAST CHANGE I am expecting my first child, and I heard that breastfeeding can lower my breasts. It's true? Pregnancy, not breastfeeding, causes the breast to change. Pregnancy hormones cause breast augmentation and stretching of the skin, as they prepare the body for feeding the child, regardless of whether you feed or not.
  10. MILK
Milk is a product of high biological value. Of the constituent parts of milk, protein is of particular importance, because of its amino acid composition, it is high-grade and has a high digestibility. Milk fat contains biologically active fatty acids and is a good source of vitamins A and D. Minerals in milk are calcium, phosphorus, which are in it in the form
  11. Skimming milk
If you organized baby feeding “on demand”, you do not need regular pumping. The mammary gland, responding to "requests" and "requirements" from the child, produces as much milk as it needs. Frequent sucking at the correct seizure of the breast will insure against the stasis that occurs when feeding under the regime scheme, when each breast is “idle” for 6-8 hours, waiting for its
  12. Lost milk
Only confidence in your desire to feed as much as your baby needs, and perseverance can help you return the milk. Milk can disappear altogether if mother is under severe stress. No one is immune from nervous overstrain. Let this unpleasant situation come to naught and do not torment yourself with self-incrimination. You can try to find an alternative to your milk. If you have to
  13. Storing your milk
Mother's milk is not a can of canned food. If it’s broken, you can't just go to the closet and open another one. A bottle of your milk is precious for both: for you and for your child. It is the perfect food for your child. You should treat your milk with care, but not worry too much. The same immune properties of milk that protect the baby,
  14. MILK ANALYSIS
Organoleptic study. Determine the color, texture, smell and taste of milk. The color of milk poured into a cylinder of colorless glass is set under reflected daylight. The consistency is determined by slow transfusion of pullet in a thin stream along the wall of the cylinder. In the trickle and the trace left after it, it is easy to establish not only the consistency, but also the presence of flakes,
  15. Increased milk production
If a woman’s breast doesn’t produce milk well, its amount will increase if the baby sucks often to stimulate the breast. If a woman has stopped breastfeeding the baby and her milk has disappeared, then as a result of the baby sucking the breast, the milk will appear again. This phenomenon is called a relaxation. If the mother has not interrupted breastfeeding, the amount of milk in the breast will increase.
  16. Milk
Milk is food for newborn mammals. It is very well diluted and well adapted to the tender and undeveloped stomach of the newborn, for the sake of which it is produced. Cow's milk is ready to satisfy the nutritional needs of the calf, goat - goat, milk of a bitch - the needs of a puppy, etc. In young mammals, young animals are naturally maintained for some time.
