“Psychological characteristics of the personality of athletes of high qualification of martial arts with a different level of psychological readiness and the development of technology for its long-term forecast”

The fifth chapter of the dissertation contains empirical research materials that reflect the results of evaluating the psychological (characterological, typological) personality characteristics of martial arts athletes with different levels of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations, as well as evaluating the information content of a set of psychodiagnostic techniques (“SACS”, multi-factor personality questionnaire MLO “Adaptability”, CBS methods, “Career Anchors”, SMIL, 16 FLO, intellectual test (COT), Projection of-2 and the development on the basis of these data, a multidimensional diagnostic algorithm for predicting long-term psychological readiness.

The determination of informative indicators of psychological tests was carried out using the correlation analysis, as well as the method of "polar groups". The inclusion of martial arts athletes in polar groups with a high and low level of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations was carried out on the basis of expert evaluations of their activities. Athletes included in these groups underwent a psychological study.

Using the SACS test, we studied the peculiarities of coping behavior of athletes with various levels of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations. It was found that statistically significant differences among athletes with high and low levels of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations were noted in four (“assertive”, “cautious”, “impulsive” and “asocial” actions) coping behavior strategies (Table. 8).

At the same time, athletes with a high level of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations are significantly more likely to use an active (assertive action) coping behavior strategy, as well as cautious actions. Athletes with a low level of long-term psychological readiness in stressful situations have a significantly higher level of severity of “impulsive” and “asocial” actions.

Using the test “Career Anchors”, the leading career orientations of the examined were identified, and their features were established for the examined with a high and low level of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations.

to competitive activity in extreme situations

A comparison of the psychological characteristics of the personality of martial arts athletes with a different level of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations, according to the tests of MLO "Adaptability", CBS, COT, SMIL, Prediction-2 and 16 FLO, revealed the importance of communicative potential, moral normativity, personal adaptive potential, as well as the productivity of intellectual activity, emotional stability, self-control as psychological factors up to long-term psychological readiness.

These data made it possible to determine the pattern of relevant psychological signs in martial arts athletes with a high level of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations, give them a verbal psychological characteristic and indicated the informativeness of the indicators used psychological tests to predict long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations.

Based on a multivariate regression analysis of data and informative indicators of psychodiagnostic tests, a model for predicting long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations was substantiated (Table 9).

It allows one to predict with high accuracy (80%) and reliability (0.01) the level of long-term psychological readiness for competitive activity in extreme situations. On a control sample of athletes of martial arts, his experimental testing was carried out.
