“Essential components, mechanisms and technologies of psychological and acmeological support for adolescents with delinquent behavior”

The fifth chapter of the dissertation presents the results of a study on a systematic analysis of the essential components of the organization of psychological and acmeological support for adolescents with delinquent behavior. Psychological-acmeological mechanisms are disclosed, the program and technologies of psychological-acmeological support for the socialization of adolescents with delinquent behavior are described.

Based on the data of the scientific literature on the problem under consideration and the materials of our own experience working with the described contingent, the conditions for the implementation of the psychological-acmeological support system of a specialized enterprise were determined:

• openness;

• nonlinearity;

• striving for harmony and integrity;

• the presence of a system-forming goal;

• ability to self-organize and expand social connections and functions;

• the presence of a structure that includes all elements of activity (motive - need - goal - content - operations - relationships - result - reflection) that implements the functions of management, training, education, development, adaptation, socialization, professional formation and integration of adolescents with delinquent behavior in society .

The system of psychological and acmeological support for adolescents with delinquent behavior is considered as a set of interconnected components that form a holistic unity, subordinate to the goals of development, education, training and professional formation. The system is composed of structural and functional components. Functional components are stable basic relationships of structural components that arise in the process of activity of leaders, teachers, psychologists, adolescents. We can distinguish the following functional components of the system: Gnostic, including actions related to the process of accumulating new knowledge about the system and its components in the process of solving psychological and acmeological problems; design, including actions associated with long-term planning of tasks and methods for solving them; constructive, related to the selection and compositional construction of the content of educational and educational information; communicative, including actions to establish acmeologically appropriate relationships between participants in the accompaniment process; organizational, related to the implementation of the acmeological concept by a specific organization of interaction of process participants; corrective, associated with the restructuring of the acmeological system, depending on the level of its success.

The system of psychological and acmeological support for adolescents with delinquent behavior (in particular, at the New Generation enterprise) is a combination of the main components of the development and labor process that determine the forms and methods of psychodiagnostics, forms of support for the socialization process, methods and means of rehabilitation of adolescents, as well as organization methods systems of psychological and acmeological support for the socialization of adolescents. The action (functioning) of the components of the system of psychological and acmeological support for the socialization of adolescents is carried out by the following mechanisms:

• desire for homeostasis;

• forming feedback;

• information.

The mechanism of striving for homeostasis is a powerful factor in evolution, which directly affects the intensity of natural selection. In the context of this study, for a constant value, "homeostasis", we take the state of good physical and mental health in adolescents.

However, the development dialectic repeatedly demonstrates to us the ambiguity of the results and the contradictory nature of any statements such as "only this way and no other." Stability, brought to the limit, stops its development. Too stable forms are also dead ends, the development of which ceases. Excessive adaptation to specific conditions or specialization is just as dangerous for improvement as inability to adapt. That is, the desire for homeostasis should be offset by other trends that determine the growth of diversity.

The most important characteristic of the self-organization process is feedback. The feedback mechanism is the reaction of the system to external influences caused by its own activity. It allows you to correct the activity of the system by monitoring its results.

In the case of the organization of the process of psychological and acmeological support of adolescents with delinquent behavior on the basis of a specialized enterprise, the lack of differentiation of external influences leads to a “supersaturation” of the system with external influences, which leads to situational answers to them regardless of the achievement of a useful result, loss of control over the process of socialization of delinquent adolescents and ultimately to the destruction of the system.

The desire for homeostasis forms the mechanisms of not only negative, but also positive feedbacks, as it is compensated by the trend of diversity. The number of these connections is determined by the quality and quantity of various information that “falls” on the subject. Moreover, the quality of information also depends on the ability of the subject to perceive and process it. The value and meaning of information is fully disclosed only when the purpose exists. In our case, the information is associated with various technologies of influencing a teenager with delinquent behavior in order to rehabilitate him.

The development of a teenager is carried out through the selection of one of the possible ways of further evolution of the system, produced at the so-called bifurcation point. It is this choice that determines whether development will proceed along a constructive or destructive path.

To develop a program for the socialization of adolescents with delinquent behavior, we have identified the structural sequence of the process of socialization of adolescents with this type of behavior with the following levels:

passive level: a teenager does not identify with peers; has a low level of communication; there are no labor installations; low social orientation; cognitive abilities are poorly expressed; there is a partial or complete denial of vital values; unwillingness to adhere to the norms and rules of behavior in society; inability to defend one’s point of view; lack of assessment of social, political, economic, cultural processes taking place in society; lack of motivation for self-affirmation, personal self-determination;

level of social and personal attractiveness: as a teenager gradually becomes aware of belonging to a group (work collective); partial identification of oneself with peers; ability to defend one’s point of view; average level of sociability; academic performance is improved; formed labor motivation, selective focus in universal values; the desire to be useful and meaningful to others, the desire for self-improvement and self-realization;

active level: full identification of oneself in a team of peers; developed labor dominant; fulfillment of rights and obligations dictated by the collective; high sociability; acceptance of traditional values; active participation in society; active defense of one’s point of view; the presence of ideas and the ability to defend them; the presence of a high level of motivation for self-expression, self-realization, personal affirmation, self-determination; ability to adapt easily, to show erudition.

The stages of a dynamic and contradictory process of socialization of adolescents with delinquent behavior are determined on the basis that its driving force is personal development and self-determination, which is realized as part of the implementation of socially useful work in a socially homogeneous team.
Conventionally, such stages can be distinguished three, each of which follows from the previous one, complementing each other, and showing how successfully for the personal formation and development of the adolescent goes through a complex and contradictory process of socialization. These stages are as follows.

1. The diagnostic stage involves the formation of the initial stage of socialization, which allows to determine the degree of inclusion of a teenager with delinquent behavior in the team and in the assimilation of norms and rules that are in force in the community; familiarization with new ways and forms of interaction; assimilation of information presented to a teenager; taking your own position. This stage is associated with a mandatory psychodiagnostic study and determination of the specifics of the personality characteristics of adolescents and the possible prospects for his behavior in the work collective in terms of individual compatibility (Fig. 8.).

Fig. 8.

The diagnostic phase of the socialization program

A comprehensive program for the acquisition of labor groups of adolescents, taking into account the conditions of psychological compatibility, is characterized as an acmeological environment. It includes diagnostics of the leading personal qualities of adolescents: “anxiety-adaptability” and “leadership-subordination”, on the basis of which manning teams are uniform in degree of psychological compatibility (Fig. 9).

Fig. 9.

Assessment of types of compatibility of adolescents in the group

This model includes, on the one hand, social functions, the implementation of which is necessary for the effective interaction of adolescents in the nonprofessional sphere, as well as factors ensuring such interaction. The leading social functions are interaction and the provision and adoption of social support. In this case, the first group of the studied factors ensures psychological compatibility "horizontally", and the second - "vertically".

In the framework of psychodiagnostics, a study is also being carried out: the emotional satisfaction of adolescents of the selected team relative to other teams (sociometric expansiveness index (ISE)); emotional satisfaction of adolescents of this production team without communication with other groups (sociometric status index (ISS)) (Fig. 10).

2. The correctional and developmental stage involves the possibility of introducing the adolescent to the ever-changing life of the labor collective, by including it in various, vital types and forms of work, expanding its worldview, realizing interests and abilities, manifesting individuality through self-expression.

The stage includes significant correctional work of the accompanying services (psychological, pedagogical, medical, social workers services) that perform an auxiliary function in the process of integrating a teenager into a work collective and instilling in the teenagers positive collective values (Fig. 11).

3. Stage - preventive work, accompanied by the formation of the highest stage of socialization and personal self-determination of adolescents. It is on it that the socially acceptable stereotypes of behavior are fixed; the formation of a sense-of-life orientation, correlation of one’s desires, acquired personal and social qualities, opportunities and requirements presented by society (I can, I want, I have).

The systematic approach, implemented on the basis of the specialized enterprise “New Generation”, is implemented using the following technologies.

Social and educational technologies: 1) the formation of labor motivation; 2) activation of adaptive variants of overcoming behavior; 3) the formation of social supportive behavior and strategies for the search for social support in prosocial networks.

Psychological technologies: 1) overcoming the barriers of awareness of emotional states; 2) awareness of the presence of personality problems; 3) the development of emotional, cognitive and behavioral strategies for overcoming behavior problems (strategies for resolving problems, finding and accepting social support, recognizing and modifying avoidance strategies); 4) analysis, awareness and development of personal and environmental resources to overcome the crisis of self-concept; 5) development of communicative resources, social competence, value orientations of cognitive development, internal locus of control; 6) acceptance of responsibility for one’s life, one’s behavior and its consequences; perception of social support; 7) a change in stereotypes of behavior and role interaction in the family; the formation of psychological resistance to pressure delinquent environment.
