“Theoretical and methodological foundations of psychological and acmeological support for adolescents with delinquent behavior”

The first chapter of the dissertation presents a literature review that reflects the theoretical foundations of the problem of deviant and delinquent behavior, its thesaurus and essence, the relationship with the development of the personality of a delinquent teenager, examines the etiology of delinquent behavior, raises the topic of determining factors of delinquent development and psychological-acmeological analysis of labor activity adolescent with delinquent behavior.

A special subsection of the first chapter includes coverage of the conceptual framework for predicting delinquent behavior in adolescents as a theoretical basis for developing a mathematical model for predicting the rehabilitation potential of socializing adolescents with illegal behavior in a specialized enterprise.

The first chapter also discusses the literature on the psychological and acmeological characteristics of the support of deviant adolescents in labor conditions and concludes that the psychological support of the process of labor development of the delinquent teenager is highly significant.

In addition, the first chapter presents the author’s psychological and acmeological concept and principles of a comprehensive diagnosis, prediction, formation and rehabilitation of adolescents with delinquent behavior.

In summary, the essence of the psychological-acmeological concept of diagnosis, predicting the rehabilitation potential of delinquent adolescents is as follows.

A delinquent teenager working in a specialized enterprise is considered by us as a dynamic self-developing personality, an important component of the mental sphere of which is the rehabilitation potential of socialization. The interdisciplinary nature of understanding the rehabilitation of adolescents with delinquent behavior allows us to analyze the essence of this process systematically: we simultaneously consider it in relation to the processes of development, education, adaptation, individualization and integration, as well as in the context of the social situation of the development of this group of adolescents. This determines the need to use a psychological-acmeological approach to identify the phenomenology of rehabilitation of adolescents with delinquent behavior.

We suggest that the possibility of rehabilitation in delinquent adolescents is due to the specificity of a personality construct that has a complex psychodynamic structure that includes 5 main components (motivational, volitional, cognitive, regulatory, and typological) and is considered by us as a multi-component (long-term) psychological and acmeological education and operational ( short-term) mental state.

This determines the need for a psychological-acmeological approach to assessing and predicting the rehabilitation potential of socialization, as well as developing methods, criteria, levels and components of its diagnosis, methodological features of rehabilitation and correction of adolescents with delinquent behavior.

We believe that the rehabilitation potential of the socialization of a delinquent teenager can be determined using psychodiagnostic technologies of expert and test assessment, which provide for psychological and acmeological qualimetry of the levels of severity and significance (contribution) of the main components to the success of socio-psychological adaptation and rehabilitation of adolescents.


This determines the need for the use of multidimensional mathematical-statistical modeling methods to assess the contribution of the main personality components to the process of socio-psychological adaptation and development of adolescents with delinquent behavior.

Therefore, psychological and acmeological diagnosis and correction of delinquent behavior in adolescents in the broad sense includes a consistently implemented system of constant study and consideration of psychological characteristics and mental health of adolescents, an assessment of the level of normative behavioral attitudes. Carrying out this set of measures helps to optimize the socio-psychological adaptation of adolescents with delinquent behavior and reduce asocial trends in the moral-normative and need-motivational sphere in this contingent. Psychological and acmeological diagnosis and correction of delinquent behavior also consists in the timely provision of psychological assistance to adolescents using the entire arsenal of psychological methods and techniques of exposure, including non-medical therapy and elements of suggestive effects.

This determines the need to search for effective psychological and acmeological methods of psychological correction and rehabilitation of adolescents with delinquent behavior in the conditions of work.

In addition, during the dissertation research, we justified the principles of diagnosis, psychological correction and rehabilitation of adolescents with delinquent behavior in the conditions of work. These principles are the conceptual basis for successfully solving the problems of development and social adaptation of delinquent adolescents through the labor collective. The principles we have justified include: a socially-oriented approach, the principles of comprehensiveness, focus, a personality-oriented approach, the principles of objectivity, validity, dynamism, practicality, competence of specialists, information support. The first chapter of the dissertation provides a detailed justification and description of the essence of these principles.

Thus, on the basis of the psychological-acmeological approach, the concept and principles of diagnosis, psychological correction and rehabilitation of adolescents with delinquent behavior in the conditions of work were substantiated. For their practical implementation, the need arose to develop scientific, methodological and organizational support, its main components, as well as technologies. This, in turn, determined the need for a complex of empirical studies, the results of which are reflected in the 3rd-6th chapters of the dissertation.
