Situation: the boy asks to buy him a doll

A variant of the situation played by students in the traditionally patriarchal family

- Mom, buy me, please, a doll!

- A doll? Why do you need a doll? You already have a lot of toys ("Mom" speaks in a disgruntled voice, she is clearly annoyed, she is uncomfortable with the boy's desire.) - Here and further note the author).

- I want to play "in the house", but the child does not.

- You're a boy, a future man, only girls play with dolls. Let's buy a robot better ("Mom" speaks edifyingly, leaving no opportunity for the child to change the situation, she considers her position to be the only true one).

Analysis of the situation by students. The child is reproached for atypical behavior, offering him a model that, according to the parents, corresponds to his gender. Thus, the child is made to understand that he is acting badly, asking for a toy that does not fit his sex.
He is explained that there are toys for boys, and there are for girls, that is, that there is a world of men and a world of women. This attitude of parents hinders the free development of the child, hangs a label on it on the floor.

The variant of the situation played by students in an egalitarian family

- Mom, I would like you to give me a doll!

- Well, well, as soon as I get my salary, I'll buy it right away ("Mama" does not express displeasure, her voice is even).

Parents respond to the request of the child, do not focus on the fact that there are toys in which to play "can", and there are toys in which the boy is "ashamed" to play. If parents do not focus attention on the problem of the sexes, do not oppose the boy and the girl to each other, they thereby leave the child free to choose behavior.
