Methodology "Traffic Light"

The Traffic Light methodology was presented at the International Workshop in Warsaw (November 9–10, 2006) “Comprehensive assistance for child victims of trafficking. Baltic Sea Region. Tutorial. BSR CACVT. This technique is used to diagnose and rehabilitate children who are victims of various forms of violence. It gives a multifactorial risk assessment, that is, it gives an idea of how the affected child understands life, risks and problems.

This technique is variable, it can be adjusted depending on the goals of the work and the specifics of the situation. The methodology contains a list of questions and answers to them on various aspects of children's life (place of residence, money, education, affections, peers, ethnic and gender identity, physical health, mental health, sexual health, relationships, incidents of violence in the present, incidents of violence in the family in the past, the risk of negative impact for others.). The “traffic light” method is used.
The color of the response reflects the degree of risk involved in a situation of violence: green - the minimum risk, yellow - the average risk, red - the maximum risk. According to the results, an assessment is made of the child’s condition, the degree of risk of being subjected to violence by the immediate environment or becoming a source of violent actions, an assessment of the effectiveness of behavioral rehabilitation, etc. (Table 1)

Instructions. “For each question of the methodology, choose one answer from the green, yellow or red zone, which is most relevant to your life situation.
