A.V. Pasechnik, E.G. Moiseeva, V.A. Frolov, G.A. Drozdov Inflammation and metabolic disorders 2011
Treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases reduces the levels of such cardiovascular risk factors as C-reactive protein and fibrinogen, established by American scientists. This is another proof of the connection between periodontal diseases and cardiovascular pathology. C-reactive protein (CRP) and fibrinogen are acute-phase proteins and systemic markers of inflammation.

As stated at the 82nd General Session of the International Association for Dental Research (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA), complex treatment led to a significant decrease in the initially elevated concentrations of CRP (at least 3 mg / l) and fibrinogen (at least 3 g / l). The concentration of CRP and fibrinogen decreased by 9 months with only mechanical treatment, and by 6 months with the additional prescription of an antibacterial drug (p <0.05).

Thus, in patients with elevated CRP levels, removal of dental plaque bacteria in combination with local antibiotic therapy reduced the CRP concentration to characteristic figures for low cardiovascular risk.

Today, we and many other authors are developing the effects of complex therapy on the levels of other inflammatory markers - cytokines, including the effects on metabolic proatherogenic parameters.

Leonova E.V. Chanturia A.V. Vismont F.I. Pathological physiology of the blood system 2009
Blood is an extremely complex, especially vital system, which largely determines the integrity of the organism. For a doctor of any specialty it is necessary to know the basics of hematology. The pathophysiological aspects of blood disorders for the clinician are essential. This issue is devoted to this manual. It includes the current information about blood, violation of erythro- processes, leukopenia, trombotsitopoeza of pathology of hemostasis-antigemostaza of standard forms and reactive changes in the erythrocyte system, white blood cells, platelets, hemostasis, antigemostaza, as well as issues related to the etiology, pathogenesis, changes blood in the most common types of anemia, erythrocytosis, leukemia, hemostasiopathy.

The expediency of publishing this manual is due to the rapid development of hematology, enriching it with new achievements and ideas that have not been adequately reflected in educational literature, the need to present them in a form accessible to students.

The purpose of the classes is to study the causes and mechanisms of disorders of the processes of erythro, leuco-, thrombocytopoiesis, hemostasis-antihemostase; typical changes in blood cells, etiology, pathogenesis of various types of anemia, erythrocytosis, leukemia, hemostasiopathy; changes in their blood picture.

The monograph is devoted to current problems of otolaryngology, microbiology and immunology. The issues of microbiocenosis of the nasal mucosa are considered depending on the etiology and pathogenesis of rhinosinusitis. The features of the microbiocenosis of the nasal mucosa in various pathogenetic forms of rhinosinusitis (allergic and pseudoallergic genesis) have been established. Emphasis is placed on the specificity of the microbial flora in polypous and bacterial rhinosinusitis. A characteristic of the microbial landscape of the nasal mucosa with rhinosinusitis is given, depending on the type of immunopathological basis for triggering allergic inflammation.

The book is intended for bacteriologists, microbiologists, otolaryngologists, allergologists, immunologists, undergraduate and postgraduate students of medical universities.

Kochkin R.V. Impedance Audiometry 2006
Methods for the study of hearing, based on the evaluation by the subjects of sensations that arise when sound signals are presented to them (subjective audiometry), are rightfully dominant in the clinic. In fact, these are psychoacoustic tests. It is in the characteristics of sensation that the endless possibilities of studying various aspects and manifestations of hearing are hidden. However, there are a number of situations in which the use of subjective indicators is impossible or undesirable. In particular, the objective methods are of particular importance in the study of hearing in children, in cases of insufficiency of mental development of the studied, with impaired consciousness due to various diseases and injuries. In the course of military, labor, and forensic medical examinations, it is also often necessary to objectively assess the state of the auditory function without participating in the process. This book "Impedance audiometry" tells about one of the methods of objective assessment of hearing, which has recently received widespread use in clinical audiology, is acoustic impedance measurement - measurement of the acoustic impedance of the middle ear.
