Treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases reduces the levels of such factors of cardiovascular risk, as C-reactive protein and fibrinogen, established by American scientists. This is another proof of the connection between periodontal diseases and cardiovascular pathology. C-reactive protein (CRP) and fibrinogen are acute-phase proteins and systemic markers of inflammation.

As it was stated at the 82nd general session of the International Association of Dental Research (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA), complex treatment resulted in a significant decrease in initially elevated concentrations of CRP (not less than 3 mg / L) and fibrinogen (not less than 3 g / l). The concentration of CRP and fibrinogen decreased by 9 months with mechanical treatment only, and by 6 months with the addition of an antibacterial drug (p <0.05).

Thus, in patients with elevated levels of CRP, the removal of plaque bacteria in combination with local antibiotic therapy reduced the concentration of CRP to the characteristic of low cardiovascular risk figures.

Today, we and many other authors develop effects of complex therapy on the levels of other markers of inflammation - cytokines, including effects on metabolic proaterogenic parameters.

For students, clinical residents and post-graduate students of the medical faculty, studying in the specialties "Stomatology", "Medical business"

Leonova EV Chanturia A. V. Wismont F. I. Pathological physiology of the blood system 2009
Blood is an extremely complex, especially vital system, which largely determines the integrity of the body. For a doctor of any specialty, you need to know the basics of hematology. Pathophysiological aspects of blood system disorders for the clinician are of significant importance. This is the subject of this manual. It includes modern information on hematopoiesis, violation of erythro-, leuko-, thrombocytopoiesis, pathology of hemostasis, anti-hemostasis, typical forms and reactive changes in erythrocyte, leukocyte, platelet, hemostasis and anti-hemostasis systems, as well as issues related to etiology, pathogenesis, changes blood in the most common types of anemia, erythrocytosis, leukemia, hemostasiopathy.

The expediency of the publication of this manual is due to the rapid development of hematology, its enrichment with new achievements and ideas that have not been adequately reflected in the educational literature, the need to present them in an accessible form for students.

The purpose of the classes is to study the causes and mechanisms of disturbances in the processes of erythro-, leuko-, thrombocytopoiesis, hemostasis-antigemostasis; typical changes in blood elements, etiology, pathogenesis of various types of anemia, erythrocytosis, leukemia, hemostasiopathy; changes in their blood picture.

The objectives of the classes are: ...

Tutorial Kidney pathophysiology 2008
The "Teaching aid" presents in detail the theoretical information block, which contains a fundamental material on the pathophysiology of the kidneys, as well as test tasks with reference replies to them and situational tasks. Materials are intended for students of medical institutes and universities of medical and biological profile, can be useful to residents, graduate students, subordinates and nephrologists, including for self-monitoring.
Tutorial Typical pathological processes. Pathophysiology of metabolism. 2008
The manual contains educational and methodological material on the most important section - the pathophysiology of metabolism of the curriculum of the discipline "Pathophysiology." In the process of education, students face the need to integrate knowledge gained in the study of metabolism in the disciplines of biochemistry, physiology, pathological anatomy, pathophysiology, and development of skills in applied clinical thinking. The task of this training manual is to teach the student the clinico-pathophysiological understanding of the knowledge obtained in the study of this section of pathology for subsequent use in clinical disciplines. In the process of independent work, students get an opportunity to get acquainted with the generalized material of textbooks, in-depth information from additional sources. To facilitate the development of this knowledge, algorithms of the causes, mechanisms and manifestations of metabolic disorders in the form of tables and charts are given. On an example of test tasks it is possible to analyze and fix the received information. Situational problems allow to develop clinico-pathophysiological thinking and skills of differential diagnostics. The manual is intended for students of medical schools, it can be useful for interns, clinical residents, graduate students and practicing doctors.
