Cabinet design

When organizing the office of a teacher-psychologist, serious attention should be paid to its light-color design.

In the office, it is recommended to use combined lighting. Before and after conducting restorative relaxation or developmental activities, it is necessary to use ordinary overhead lighting; during special classes - turn on the side wall sconces with a weak green light. All fixtures are best directed to the ceiling to provide soft, diffused light.

The environment in which the client finds himself must set him up for dialogue and confidential communication. You should know that color affects a person’s mental state. Therefore, when designing an office, it is important to consider the requirements of color psychology.

All colors can be divided into two groups: warm (shades of red and yellow) and cold (bluish-violet tones). The most beneficial effect on vision and the central nervous system (hereinafter - the central nervous system) of a person is exerted by green and blue colors. Light colors positively affect the psychophysiological state, cause a good mood. Dark tones and saturated shades of color, on the contrary, depress, contribute to the development of a depressed state. Red and yellow colors excite and activate the central nervous system.

Classification of colors by their psychological effects on humans

1. Stimulating (warm) colors:

red - prompts to action, strong-willed, life-affirming;

orange - conducive to intimate conversation, warm, comfortable;

yellow - contributes to better contact.

2. Disintegrating (cold) colors:

purple - stimulates the state of immersion in oneself;

blue - removes, creates a distance.

3. Soothing and balancing colors:

green - refreshing;

olive - calms, softens;

yellow-green - liberates.

4. Muffling and suppressing irritation colors:

ocher - softens the growth of irritation;

brown, earthy - stabilizes;

dark brown - softens excitability;

white, gray - extinguish irritation;

dark gray, black-blue, green-blue - isolate and suppress irritation.

5. Pastel colors:

pink - causes tenderness;

lilac - enhances isolation and isolation;

pastel green - softens;

grayish-bluish - causes restraint.

Blue furniture seems cold. Subconsciously, there is a feeling that sitting on a blue chair is not as warm as sitting on a red or brown chair. In a room painted in orange, it seems warmer than in a room with a blue-green color, although in fact the temperature in them is the same.

Indoors, especially with poor lighting, white ceilings and walls appear gray. This tires and adversely affects the psychological state of a person. White color is well perceived only in cases where it acts as a background for other colors.

When you design an office, you must also pay attention to the color of the front door.
The door is an important part of the room and almost always causes certain psychological associations among visitors. Depending on the color in which it is painted, the door as if invites you to enter the office or, conversely, does not have it. For example, a door painted in a dark gray color causes negative emotions and unwillingness to open it.

Studies by the Institute of Color Psychology in Zurich (Switzerland) showed that children give preference to a particular color depending on age. At an early age they prefer red or purple, and girls mainly like pink. At the age of 9–11 years, interest in red is gradually replaced by interest in orange, then yellow, yellow-green, and finally green. After 12 years, the favorite color of most is blue. Statistical studies have confirmed that blue is the most preferred for adults. Such a change of preferences coincides with the processes of the general development of man, with a gradually arising tendency to deeper colors. Studies have also shown a connection between the preferred color and psychological characteristics of a person.

Depending on the location of the color in the room, it can affect a person in different ways. Therefore, when designing the functional areas of the office of the teacher-psychologist, the following recommendations should be considered.

It is desirable to arrange the waiting areas for reception and advisory work so that the color scheme of the space provides relative peace, a mood for dialogue, and free communication. Therefore, you should not use saturated shades of red-orange, as well as create sharp color contrasts.

The game therapy area is recommended to be designed using bright saturated tones, sometimes in sharp contrast.

The zone of relaxation and removal of psychoemotional stress should not be oversaturated with small details, they will irritate and have a stimulating rather than relaxing effect. Walls, floors, furniture, curtains should be calm, neutral tones that do not cause additional excitement. Preferred are blue and green colors.

The relationship between your favorite color and psychological characteristics of a person

Phytodesign cabinet. In the office of the teacher-psychologist, there must be plants that contribute to the creation of optimal conditions for study and rest. In addition, flowers, flower racks and walls can play the role of functional partitions dividing the various areas of the cabinet (for example, to separate the primary reception area from the playing area).

It is recommended to place fresh flowers, green grassy lawns, phytocompositions in the office, which have a favorable psychological effect on visitors.

An organic addition to phytodesign is the use of nature sounds during classes: the noise of the forest, the surf, and birdsong.
