Myths about NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Myth 1. NLP is the direction of psychology or psychotherapy.

Denial: NLP classics argued that NLP is, first of all, a modeling tool. Thanks to him, the same classics of NLP created one of the first models of NLP - psychotherapeutic, because it was modeled with brilliant psychologists and psychotherapists of the time. Along with this model, a number of other, productive, working models were created that are not related to the treatment of the human psyche. Anthony Robbins, the richest planet NLPer, for example, was engaged in business modeling and strategies that contribute to its development, manageability, and profitability. Modern NLP has a huge number of NLP models for the average person who wants to get maximum results in different planes of his life.

Myth 2. NLP is a technique.

Denial: NLP is a modeling technology. Its main task is to find a chip, a zest, which distinguishes the strategy of a successful businessman, politician, speaker, parent, seller and just a person, from the unlucky one. And the task of the NLP Master, his main qualification in our approach is to find these chips, to Simulate with the help of classical and modern approaches in NLP. A technique - it is the products of NLP. Chips, strategies, developments, decorated in the technique. Step by step instructions for a specific task.

Myth 3. NLP can be learned from books or videos and pass the "external".

Denial: The biggest contradiction in any education and training - the concept of "know" and "be able". Any information gives knowledge, but does not guarantee the ability to put it into practice. NLP is impossible to learn from books. You can learn the terminology of NLP and pass it externally. But what will this “mastering of NLP” give? The approach of most psychological centers of NLP-technology guarantees practical skills or the use of skill in everyday life for each participant, while respecting the three not complicated rules:

1. Attend training. We cannot teach NLP to those who are not in the audience.

2. Do not interfere with being present to others. Normal ethics in relation to the neighbor.

3. Perform those exercises that will be offered during the training.

This condition is especially important, since it provides the practical mastery of NLP. If you follow these rules, then whether you like it or not, you will be able to use NLP in your life.

Myth 4. NLP is difficult and not everyone can master.

Disclaimer: As the long-term practice of NLP-technology trainers and the experience of many thousands of participants trained by them show, NLP can and should be communicated in simple language. Participants of the trainings conducted by leading trainers unanimously concluded that NLP training is interesting, easy and practically applicable from the very first hours of training.

Myth 5. NLP - is zombies, manipulation, and generally bad and dishonest

Denial: “To force others to do something without their will is bad!” It seems that all the negative things about NLP are based on this “opinion”. We are from the first infant cry, which makes the mother jump up and do something, to the death rattle: “Drink!” - “force” others to do something. “Communication is manipulation,” said one of the NLP “founding fathers.” People always “force” others to do something. From the minimum, say "Hello" to their "Hello", to the maximum, take cyanide at the request (and it happens) or give their lives for "faith, the king and the fatherland."
That's not the question. The question is, what is honest? Ask or demand, hint or order, instill or compel under the threat of violence, dismissal, divorce. What is more honest: to arrange for a subordinate such conditions under which he will do the work with pleasure or force him under the threat of fines and dismissal? “Instill” the child “parents must listen” or make him shout, beating, deprivation: “you will not walk”, “you will not watch TV”, etc. etc.? What is more honest: to “lash out” a loved one with a kind attitude and love, or force him to do what you need with threats, violence, divorce, deprivation of money, children, etc. etc.? If the first options are “dishonest” - then all NLPers are deceivers, whatever one may say ... Because forcing is not our methods. And, from our point of view, the second options - this is "without his will." By force. And I don’t need to tell how to work on “forced” jobs. As in the subbotniki under communism. Or as Russian prisoners in fascist factories. NLP practitioner is not a theory. There are such people. They are already doing it, whether we like it or not. In the "Practice" is simply structured skill and "crushed" to the "trainable" elements. That everyone could learn, and not only owned "presented by the god". In general, the feeling is that the methods of NLP practice are considered dishonest by those who prefer the second versions of “solving problems”. And ok. Their case. We do not climb to them.

Myth 6. NLP-ery can not do anything, but only say

Denial: And there is some truth in this. Just as not all at once are able to those who take courses in driving a car, just as people do not immediately know how to play the piano and speak French. Beginners know a lot and do not know much. Therefore, they say more than they do. The further, the less talk about the case and more of the case. And therefore, "mothers" do not notice. Or noticed on business. Because they do not speak. They make.

Myth 7. Everything is too simple and no spirituality.

Denial: And here is the truth. One girl at the training asked: “What about the soul?” And she turned to the wrong address. Mental problems are dealt with either by priests, or psychiatrists, or, in mild cases, by counseling psychologists. We train the skill. (Although for “spiritual” problems there is a corresponding “simplification” in NLP). What is the soul of the ability to hammer nails? And if the "soul" is called attitude, then NLP has ready models here. By changing attitudes. By changing yourself. For those, I repeat, who do not consider themselves the crown of creation. Those who think that training is generally not necessary. They have everything. And good.

Myth 8. NLP-er = pikaper

Denial: It’s just that. Pickup is a model. NLP - factory. Yes, in the pick-up used techniques NLP practice. But this is not NLP technology. In the NLP practice, very few discoveries. (Only two: "You can learn this" and "Eye access codes"). Just very high quality collected and structured methods of exposure. Which ALREADY someone used to NLP and uses now. That is why the people who have undergone NLP practices begin to think that NLP is everywhere. In advertising, politics, business, PR, flirting and pickup. Receptions are the same. In Practice, they are collected in one training. That's all. It's simple.

Myths about NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a psychotherapeutic concept that, by changing the mental image of a life situation presented in the mind, changes the mental state of a person to ensure the possibility of effective self-realization in life and the satisfaction of actual needs. One of the basic provisions of NLP is the statement that each person carries in
  2. Selection and justification of the programming environment
In most cases, to create your own information system is impossible to do without the use of databases. What is the difference between a “database” and any data warehouse that is maintained in the files of the operating system? The main difference is that the dataset included in the database is managed by a special system program, commonly called the “control system
  3. Adapted techniques of neuro-linguistic programming
    Adapted neuro-linguistic techniques
  4. Myths about psychoanalysis
During the revival of psychoanalysis in Russia, these myths seemed natural due to the closeness of the topic in our country. Now more than 10 years have passed since psychoanalysis came out of the underground - a huge number of books on psychoanalysis were published, psychoanalysis institutions and psychoanalysis faculties appeared in many universities, the National Federation of Psychoanalysis was established, practitioners appeared
  5. Myths and psychological realities
There are topics that are not simple, not unambiguous, among them, as I see it, is the topic of myth and its role in human psychology. In the conventional understanding, myth is an ancient legend, a symbolic tale, a cautionary tale or a kindred story, the wisdom of ancestors, encoded into a narrative that is filled with deepest meanings. According to generally accepted collective ideas, the myth is to create
  6. Myths and realities of adolescence
I’m not mistaken if I say that of all the periods of a child’s development, the most puzzling, difficult and even dangerous is adolescence. This is the very period that brings the biggest headache to parents and teachers, ordinary people and law enforcement agencies. This is the very period that gave rise to the concepts of “the problem of fathers and children” and “the conflict of generations”. Finally, this is the same age in relation to which
  7. Myths about psychologists
A psychologist himself is like a dentist himself. It hurts, it is inconvenient and fraught with complications ... Popular wisdom Not so many years have passed, as in our country, in general, the word “psychology” and such a profession as a psychologist became widely known. At the same time, the popularity of everything connected with psychology is enormous - this is also indicated by the competition for psycho-sexes (it is fashionable to be a psychologist), and the amount of “popular”
  8. Myths and symbols as regulators of combat behavior
Myths and symbols are important mechanisms for regulating the behavior of combatants. Myth (from the Greek. Mythos - the legend, the tale) - the story of the gods, spirits, idolized heroes and first ancestors, originated in primitive society. They are intertwined with the early elements of religion, philosophy, science and art. Myths in a figurative sense - false, non-critical, divorced from
  9. Myths about losing weight
Every woman, secretly or obviously dreaming of losing weight, at the preparatory stage for this event is faced with, alas, all of us inherent, laziness, unwillingness to “deprive” of something. The treacherous thoughts arise by themselves: “Don't, don't lose weight, you are so beautiful! What about our favorite steaks? You have so little joy in your life, do you want to deprive us of the latter? In the end, after two months you have
  10. Myths about psychological counseling on the Internet
(based on the article “Myths and Reality of Clinical Work on the Internet,” written by the therapists of the International Society for the Protection of Mental Health Online) The psychological counseling on the Internet is a reality. At the moment there are more than 30 sites in Russian that provide psychological help online. Of course, this is significantly less than
