Features of vocational training in Europe

Traditional types of training of professional psychologists that developed during the 20th century exist in a number of European countries: Great Britain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, as well as in the United States of America and Canada.

In 1990 European scientists began to show interest in the system of training psychologists in other countries, there are attempts to develop common approaches.

The training of psychologists varies in duration, structure and content of education.
Typically, two levels of education are distinguished: basic university (Undergraduate) and postgraduate (Graduate). In the postgraduate education of psychologists in many European countries, in the USA and Canada, two main areas are distinguished: research and practical professional.

The interest of students in psychological education over the past decades has been growing both in America and in most European countries, many students choose the profession of psychologist to continue their higher education.
