Career steps

UNIVERSITY EDUCATION

Actually, starting a career at a university is too late. I try to orient the guys on a career as early as possible. Of course, in 10-12 years, no one dreams of becoming a psychologist. Most often they express a desire to acquire the profession of a lawyer, military, artist, doctor, banker, etc. I always ask guys what they do for this. The usual answer is: "I study at school." Everything at school. But you need to do something in order to become what you want to become. I propose to future lawyers to start studying law, doctors - to learn how to make dressings and injections into the tube. It is clear that no one will trust to give injections into a vein. In general, the most important thing is to learn to learn. Unfortunately, boys and girls who do not know how to study for themselves come to the university. They usually study to pass exams, i.e. for teachers. Such students will have great difficulties in promotion. As I wrote earlier, while studying at the institute, you should already think about a career and additionally start studying and working in the laboratory or at the department already from the first year. It is possible that by the 3-4th course specialization will be firmly chosen. Unfortunately, when asked what kind of psychologist you are going to become and in which institution you want to work, many do not have a clear answer even while studying in the last courses. Already studying at the institute, you need to try to quickly find out where you will work.

The head of the psychological service of one of the power structures, my student, picked up future employees among the students and sent them to various forms of study, including me. I must say that there are not so many such leaders who are looking for their employees among students. Therefore, I advise psychology students to go around the institutions where they are going to work, and how to find out what are the requirements for psychologists and try to learn how to meet them even in draft form during their studies.

PSYCHOLOGIST'S WORK AND CAREER AFTER THE UNIVERSITY END

Unfortunately or fortunately, but most students do not heed the advice to more accurately determine their specialization during their studies at the university and do something for this. They just study at the university and the main goal for them is getting a diploma. During their studies, they actually only find out where what is written, acquire a certain intellectual gloss. The main specialization begins after graduation. Where it is possible for a psychologist to work and what forms of specialization may be indicated in previous chapters.
The main career of a psychologist is carried out not in terms of career advancement, but in terms of qualification growth. Here you can draw an analogy with lawyers, doctors, architects. The psychologist does his job all the time, but the level of his wards or the institutions in which he works, changes with the growth of qualifications. It is one thing when a lawyer protects a person accused of a petty offense in the process, it is quite another when he protects a major financial tycoon. His prestige, earnings, etc. depend on this. If a psychologist becomes the head of a psychological company, then management problems prevent him from conducting direct psychological work. But he must be a good psychologist in order to be able to hire a good psychologist. So, if you decide to be just a practicing psychologist, it does not matter, a coach or a diagnostician, then after a long specialization you need to regularly attend short-term seminars and conferences (5-7 days) to learn new methods and to communicate with colleagues and be oriented in what is happening in the world. I think that such seminars and conferences (congresses, symposiums) should be attended at least twice a year. On them you can not only listen to others, but also speak yourself. I, in particular, have been doing this for many years.

One day my student went to such a seminar. In her free time, she told her colleagues about her working methods. Now many of the participants in this seminar are coming to train for her.

Of course, if you want to become an organizer psychologist or administrator, then you should study the basics of management, accounting and much more. But I do not want to paint you your career until retirement. As you have already seen, tastes, interests, desires and motives can constantly change. But the most important thing is that at every moment of life you need to clearly imagine your big ultimate goal, try, if possible, to achieve it, but if during this move up you suddenly see a more attractive goal, you should not be afraid to get off the beaten path. It is better to follow the advice of V. Vysotsky:

Do as I do:

It means don't follow me

This track is only mine.

Get out of your rut.

Career steps

  1. ABOUT THE CONTENT FILLING OF THE CONCEPT OF CAREER AND ITS OPTIONS
In the dictionary of foreign words, a career is interpreted as successful promotion in the field of public, official, scientific and other activities or as a occupation, profession (Dictionary of Foreign Words. 4. Theory of three stages of human development
Researchers in European countries were more interested in analyzing the qualitative features of the development process. They were interested in the stages or stages of the development of behavior in phylogeny and ontogenesis. So, after the works of I.P. Pavlov, E. Thorndike, V. Keller, the Austrian psychologist K. Buler proposed the theory of three stages of development: instinct, training, intelligence. K. Buler connected these steps, their

The aim of the second stage of AT is the optimization of higher mental functions and the correction of personality disorders. However, the use of AT-2 in the correction of PTSD in veterans, taking into account the peculiarities of their response to a state of relaxation, will be more effective if combined with other methods of psychotherapy aimed at removing the associated connection between relaxation and alertness
