Career steps

EDUCATION IN UNIVERSITY

In fact, it’s too late to start your career in high school. I'm trying to orient the guys to a career as early as possible. Of course, in 10-12 years, no one dreams of becoming a psychologist. More often they express a desire to acquire the profession of a lawyer, a military man, an artist, a doctor, a banker, etc. I always ask the guys what they are doing for this. The usual answer is: "I study at school." They all go to school. And you need to do something in order to become who you want to become. I would suggest that future lawyers start studying law, and physicians should learn how to make dressings and injections in the tube. It is clear that no one will trust to make injections into the vein. In general, the most important thing is to learn to learn. Unfortunately, boys and girls who don’t know how to study for themselves come to the university. They usually study to pass exams, that is, for teachers. Such students will have great difficulties in moving up the career ladder. As I wrote earlier, while studying at the institute, you should already think about a career and begin to study and work in the laboratory or at the department from the 1st course already. It is possible that specialization will be firmly chosen by the 3-4th course. Unfortunately, when asked what kind of psychologist you are going to become and what institution you want to work in, many do not have a clear answer even while studying in the last courses. Already studying at the institute, you need to try to quickly find out where you will work.

The head of the psychological service of one of the power structures, my student, picked up future employees for himself among the students and sent them to various forms of study, including me. I must say that there are not so many such managers who are looking for their employees among students. Therefore, I advise psychology students to walk around the institutions where they are going to work, and how to find out what requirements are placed on psychologists, and try at least in the rough to learn to meet them already during their studies.

WORK AND CAREER OF THE PSYCHOLOGIST AFTER THE END OF THE UNIVERSITY

Unfortunately or fortunately, but most students do not heed the advice to define their specialization more precisely while they are still at university and to do something about it. They simply study at the university and the main goal for them is to get a diploma. During their studies, they actually only learn where what is written, acquire some intellectual gloss. The main specialization begins after graduation. Where a psychologist can work and what forms of specialization may be indicated in previous chapters.
The main career of a psychologist is not in terms of career advancement, but in terms of qualification growth. Here you can draw an analogy with lawyers, doctors, architects. The psychologist does his job all the time, but the level of his wards or the institutions in which he works changes as he grows in qualifications. It’s one thing when a lawyer defends a person accused of committing a minor offense in the process, it’s quite another when he defends a big financial magnate. His prestige, earnings, etc. depend on this. If a psychologist becomes the head of a psychological company, then management problems prevent him from carrying out direct psychological work. But he must be a good psychologist in order to be able to hire a good psychologist for him to work. So, if you decide to be just a practicing psychologist, it does not matter, a coach or a diagnostician, then after a long specialization, you need to systematically attend short-term seminars and conferences (5-7 days) to master new methods and to communicate with colleagues and be oriented in what is happening in the world. I think that such seminars and conferences (congresses, symposia) should be attended at least twice a year. You can not only listen to others, but also speak on your own. I, in particular, have been doing this for many years.

One day my student went to such a seminar. In her free time, she told colleagues about her working methods. Now many of the participants of this seminar come to trainings for her.

Of course, if you want to become an organizing psychologist or administrator, then you should learn the basics of management, accounting and much more. But I do not want to paint you your career until retirement. As you have already seen, tastes, interests, desires and motives can constantly change. But the most important thing is that at every moment of life you need to clearly imagine your big final goal, try, if possible, to achieve it, but if during this advance you suddenly see a more attractive goal, do not be afraid to get off the beaten path. Here it is better to follow the advice of V. Vysotsky:

Do like me:

This means - do not follow me,

This track is only mine.

Get out your track.

Career steps

  1. ABOUT THE CONTENT FILLING OF THE NOTION OF CAREER AND ITS OPTIONS
In the dictionary of foreign words, career is interpreted as a successful advancement in the field of public, official, scientific, and other activities or as an occupation, profession (Dictionary of Foreign Words. Edited by FN Petrov and others. M., 1988). I want to consider the phenomenon of career mainly in its first meaning, attracting psychology for this. It’s probably obvious to everyone that when
  2. True and formal signs of a successful career
True - people like a professional and a super specialist. but for one reason or another it is not recognized. 3. Basic community or stage of development of subjectivity
What are the main human communities through which the development of man as their subject — participant and creator — passes? Each human community carries out a certain joint activity, characterized primarily by the content of this activity, its subject. In the construction of any human community, at least two are involved, and a change in the form and content of the community
  4. The theory of three levels of human development
Researchers in European countries were more interested in analyzing the qualitative features of the development process. They were interested in the stages or stages of behavior development in phylogenesis and ontogenesis. So, after the works of I.P. Pavlov, E.Torndike, V.Keller, the Austrian psychologist K. Buhler proposed a theory of three levels of development: instinct, dressura, intellect. K. Buhler tied these steps, their
  5. METHOD OF TRAINING OF HIGHER STEPS
The purpose of the second stage of AT is the optimization of higher mental functions and the correction of personality disorders. However, the use of AT-2 in the correction of PTSD in veterans, given the peculiarities of their response to the state of relaxation, will be more effective if it is combined with other methods of psychotherapy aimed at removing the associated association of relaxation with alertness and anxiety on this
  6. A comprehensive study of human development at the stage of maturity
Acmeology, as mentioned above, studies the phenomenology, patterns and mechanisms of human development at the stage of his adulthood, and especially when he reaches the highest level in this development, which usually means that he has the quality of maturity. The stage of human maturity and the so-called peak of this maturity, or, as it is also called, Acme, is a multidimensional state

  8. (MAIN STAGE) WHEN WORKING WITH PTSD
The style of conducting on the main stage of KPO is characterized by a friendly and restrained installation of the psychotherapist, which gives impetus to individual motives. At the same time, his position is rather expectant, by no means pushing, leaving the patient free rein. However, the psychotherapist must be able to use radical interventions (therapeutic interventions) if necessary.
  9. Adulthood and maturity as the most important step in human life cycle for acmeology
Plan 1. General characteristics of human development in ontogenesis. 2. The essence of the problem is the ratio of adulthood and maturity. 3. Chronological, biological, social and psychological ages and possible options for their relationship. 4. The diversity of the criteria for maturity and understanding of maturity itself among different nations and at different historical times. 5. Preserving the ambiguity of the relationship
