Types and levels of professional and personal self-determination of a psychologist.

Conventionally, the following main types of self-determination can be distinguished: professional, life, and personality. The main distinguishing (specific) signs of these types of self-determination can be as follows. Professional self-determination is characterized by: 1) greater formalization (professionalism is reflected in diplomas and certificates, in the work book, in the results of work, etc.); 2) for professional self-determination, “suitable”, favorable conditions are required (social request, relevant organizations, equipment, etc.). The following are characteristic of life self-determination: 1) globality, the all-encompassing nature and lifestyle that are specific to the socio-cultural environment in which the person lives; 2) dependence on stereotypes of social consciousness of a given socio-cultural environment; 3) dependence on economic, social, environmental and other “objective” factors that determine the life of a given social and professional group.

Personal self-determination is characterized by: 1) the impossibility of formalizing the full development of the personality (as already noted, it is difficult to imagine at the level of a healthy imagination that a person has a diploma or certificate stating that “the holder of this document is a Person”); 2) for a full-fledged personal self-determination, it is better not “favorable” conditions in the philistine view, but rather complex circumstances and problems that not only allow the best personal qualities of a person to appear in difficult conditions, but often also contribute to the development of such qualities.

For each of the main types of self-determination (professional, life, and personality), one can conditionally distinguish subtypes that differ by the criterion of the breadth of the range, by the possibilities of self-determination.
Since the criterion of "more or less" (opportunities) is introduced, it is legitimate to call these subtypes "levels of opportunities for self-determination." We can conditionally distinguish five such “levels” separately for professional and separately for life self-determination. Since, as one develops in a particular activity, a person simultaneously realizes himself as a person, individual levels are distinguished for personal self-determination - “levels of realization of existing opportunities (by types of professional and life self-determination).
