Types of psychological knowledge

The accumulation of psychological knowledge took place in various sciences and spheres of human activity, wherever knowledge of the mental world and human behavior was needed. According to some authors, the word "psychology" appeared in literature in the XVI century, according to others - in the XVIII. Historians have different opinions on how the word "psychology" arose. Literally translated from Greek, it means "the doctrine of the soul" or "science of the soul" - the corresponding Greek roots psyche (soul) and logos (science, teaching). And in everyday psychology, and in art, the word "soul" is more often used, the word "psychology" is used less often.
And, on the contrary, in science the concept of "soul" is now used relatively rarely; The concept of "psyche" is considered more scientific.

Psychological knowledge as knowledge of the spiritual world of a person may have different sources. It is not by chance that the words "psychology" and "psychological" can be found not only in scientific psychology, but also in everyday life, and in art.

At least five basic types of psychological knowledge can be distinguished:

1) everyday psychology,

2) art

3) scientific psychology
