The main directions and tasks of the psychological research of the military team

The main goal of the psychologist's work in military teams (units, outposts, guards, combat crews, crews) is to optimize the joint activities of military personnel, interpersonal relationships in a military team based on in-depth study of the moral and psychological state of individual military personnel and socio-psychological phenomena that arise in military teams .

To achieve this goal, the psychologist must receive reliable, i.e. reasonable, reliable and accurate information that meets the needs of practice. The only way to obtain such information is to conduct a full-fledged psychological study, which, as a rule, includes:

- preliminary analysis of the problem situation;

- targeted allocation, observation and description of significant phenomena;

- group psychodiagnostics;

- conducting the necessary experiments (natural or laboratory, stating or formative);

- processing and summarizing the information received.

The next important step is the explanation of the facts and patterns obtained, i.e.
the interpretation of research data and the construction of conceptual models to explain the mechanisms of the phenomenon - its structure, factors (conditions and causes) of occurrence and dynamics, the relationship between various parameters-characteristics. Such an approach actually represents a justified description that allows the psychologist to formulate practical recommendations for military leaders, as well as take it into account as part of his own socio-psychological work on the development of the military team.
