The main psychological signs of the formation of a military team

To determine the level of formation of the team of a unit at a particular moment in time, the relevant criteria are used, which are based on specially identified signs. In domestic military psychology, they include: community of professional activity; mediation of interpersonal relations with the goals, values ​​and content of professional activity; unity and cohesion; the presence of a specific organizational form of association; consistency and consideration of the basic interests of all members of the team; stability and harmonious relations based on mutual contact and responsibility.

In recent years, military and naval psychologists have identified a number of other signs, but, having many of the above, they reflect other specific features of military collectives, for example, combat units of a ship, crews, coastal units and units, etc.

As already noted, using the listed features as relevant criteria, we can assume that not all military units can reach a level in their development that allows them to be called teams. Quite often there are crews, crews, and others that have stopped at the level of an organized social group. However, as a comparative analysis shows, their functioning in this case looks less efficient than military collectives.
It is believed that it is in the collective that the possibilities of group activity are fully realized, and the military personnel included in it have all the conditions for complete personal self-realization.

At the same time, it is very important for the unit commander (chief) to take into account in his leadership not only the level of social community of his subordinates, but some other features,

for example, the number of subordinates, the structure of the unit and the specifics of the military-professional and other tasks that they solve. It is their peculiar combination in each specific case that allowed military psychologists to distinguish several types of collectives, among which, first of all, are presented:

Primary teams - teams with direct contact, interaction among themselves (warheads of ships of rank 2 and 3, crew of a ship of rank 4, etc.);

Secondary collectives - collectives consisting of several primary. They can be in indirect interaction, communication with each other (the warhead of a ship of rank 1, the crew of a ship of rank 3, etc.).

The use of the stated psychological characteristics for the analysis and assessment of the quality condition of a military team to reveal a unique structure in each of them.
