Psychological techniques for achieving authority

The commander, who forms an emotionally positive attitude towards his subordinates, can be sure that in the most difficult situation he will find understanding among the military personnel that any of his orders will be executed accurately and on time. Unfortunately, it often happens that he makes only separate attempts to this, acting intuitively, from case to case. At the same time, one must remember that the formation of a positive attitude towards oneself is a constant and lengthy process.

There are special psychological techniques, the conscious and systematic use of which can significantly increase the effectiveness of management activities.

The mechanism of their impact is the formation of a soldier during communication at a subconscious level of a positive emotional attitude towards the commander.

During daily communication with subordinates, the commander is advised to use the following psychological techniques: “proper name”, “mirror of attitude”, “golden words”, “patient listener”, “personal life”.

"Proper name". The essence of the technique is to pronounce aloud the name (first name and patronymic) of the subordinate when referring to it. The sound of one’s own name evokes a person’s not always conscious sense of pleasure. Pronunciation by the commander of the name of the serviceman involuntarily indicates a careful attitude to him as a person, which causes a feeling of satisfaction.

The main rule of reception: "When communicating with a subordinate, utter as often as possible his name (name and patronymic) out loud."

"Mirror of relations." The expression on the commander’s face during communication is unknowingly evaluated by the subordinate, it acts as a “mirror of attitude” to the subordinate.

The basis of the action of this technique is the psychological phenomenon of suggestion.

? restrain hasty assessments and judgments until all the facts are clarified, the position of the interlocutor;

? do not interrupt until he has spoken;

? check your understanding of what was said, repeat what was said, clarify incomprehensible thoughts;

? strive to understand the logic of the interlocutor;

? encourage free expression of opinions; strive to develop and expand what has been expressed by the military, and not look for mistakes.
