Technological map of diagnostics of the state of military discipline in the unit

This methodology was developed based on the experience of officials of advanced military units of the Spetsstroy of Russia in the prevention of violations of the statutory rules of relations between military personnel in units. Its main idea is to teach commanders (commanders) to work with servicemen of various periods of service, using the most acceptable and effective forms and methods of organizational work and educational impact for each of them.

It can be used in everyday activities to prevent hazing in military teams, when training officers in the prevention of offenses based on mockery and bullying of military personnel, and in creating a healthy moral and psychological situation in the unit and military unit (on the ship).

Unregulated relationships in military collectives are the moral and physical impact of individual military personnel, groups of military personnel (on an age, country, national or other basis) on their colleagues in order to achieve certain privileges for themselves, “barracks comfort”.

Violations of the statutory rules of relations are the most acute problem that undermines combat readiness and military discipline, have an extremely negative impact on the moral and psychological state of personnel and cause irreparable harm to the physical and mental health of military personnel. They are expressed in violation of the order and rules of relations between servicemen provided for by military regulations, and find their manifestation in moral and physical insult.

An analysis of cases of improper relationships shows that most of them are the result of the desire of some military personnel (usually senior conscription) to receive privileges at the expense of others, occupying a lower position in the informal hierarchy. The object of constant psychological and physical attacks is often military personnel who have poorly formed labor skills, weak physical development, which, as a rule, determine the role of “outcasts”.

Most often, hazing is a combination of such relations between the military personnel of the unit, which are based on unhealthy moral and psychological dependencies.
These relations are formed in conditions of the spontaneous stratification of the team into various microgroups that are formed taking into account the service life, according to national, “fellow countryman” and other signs that differ in direction, activity and composition. At the same time, groups of a negative orientation, in order to achieve their narrow group goals, implement physical and psychological superiority over the others.

The leading role in such groups is played by the leader, who performs the functions of the organizer or executor and controls the observance of negative role requirements. Often, he is distinguished by defiant behavior, ostentatious rudeness and indiscipline. As a rule, such a “leader" is characterized by a desire to subjugate people. To achieve his selfish goals, he often uses physical violence or threatens to use it. He can hide his true face under the guise of a struggle for discipline, an experienced guy, athlete, etc.

There are servicemen who are entrusted with the role of the direct executors of “sanctions” to maintain negative traditions, and “agents” of the idea of ​​meek obedience to unspoken “laws”. They give advice on how to act for beginners in various situations, give examples of cruel reprisals for disobedience or “squealing”. The quality of the performance of these roles by colleagues is constantly assessed by the leader of the negative microgroup and its close ones. Based on these evaluative opinions, an intragroup mechanism for the functioning of hazing relationships in the unit is formed.

Diagnosis and prevention of hazing is the most important and time-consuming part of the work of officials and requires constant attention, study and influence from them.

The methodology is intended to concretize the work of officials in identifying and eradicating the causes of violations of the charter rules of relations between military personnel as a social phenomenon that undermines the foundations of military service and combat readiness of troops (forces).
