How to increase self-esteem

We give a definition. Self-esteem is a set of opinions of a person about himself, his capabilities, the conformity of his human qualities, the norms accepted in a given society.
If self-esteem is adequate, all is well. A person sets real goals, chooses real ways to achieve them. If he is concerned about the problem of overweight, he does not seek to lose weight quickly only on the basis that someone of his friends succeeded. In case of failure, looking for where he made a mistake and how to eliminate it, and not blaming himself for lack of will and worthlessness.
It is quite another thing if self-esteem is understated. Such a person is unsure of himself, not ready for change, indecisive. He believes that he is not worthy of a better life. And if so, then the motives for losing weight are correspondingly and extremely low. Low self-esteem becomes a source of constant bad mood, depression. And this leads to an increase in the role of food as a domestic antidepressant. A person is taken to eat more often and more than he needs. Naturally, excess fat is stored in the stock. A person with low self-esteem is very poorly tolerated difficulties, usually occurring at losing weight. Accordingly, frequent breakdowns, premature termination of the "weight loss" efforts. This means a new round of weight gain, more rapid progression of obesity.
And we must understand that if somehow this self-assessment would be adequate, it would be much better to lose weight with them. And not only with weight loss. A person with adequate self-esteem no longer remains a victim of his fate. He becomes her master. Indeed, he is successful, he knows what he wants, knows why, and how to achieve it.
So, what can a person offer to increase his self-esteem?
You can outline two ways, or rather, two groups of corrective actions - non-psychological and psychological. We note in passing that modern psychotherapy neglects the so-called non-psychological methods of correcting personal problems. And in vain. These methods have quite a lot of potential. And most importantly, they can help a person cope with a problem without actualizing it, without directing the person’s attention to the fact that “he is not well with his psyche”. But in our society with an extremely low psychological culture, people are often afraid to have personal problems (although who does not have them?), Believing that the existence of such problems is almost an obligatory sign of terrible mental illnesses.

Especially good non-psychological effects help those who have decreased self-esteem for the second time, due to repeated unsuccessful attempts to lose weight. It is simply helpful to note here that your failures are not your fault. Failures are the fruit of mistakes, wrong tactics, high expectations and so on. And if now you are not in a hurry, understand the problem, correctly set the task, determine the ways to solve it, and consistently implement them, then the result will be sure.
The human body is designed according to its own laws. Most people experience greater hunger in the evening than in the morning. For most people, trying to refuse dinner is painful and painful. Well, should you blame yourself and think about yourself reduced, if you, like most other people, do not manage to refrain from dinner?
It is clear that reduced self-esteem can be a constant source of depression, but depression that occurs on any other occasion can lead to a decrease in self-esteem. What can significantly reduce the likelihood of depression, its severity and duration? Adequate sleep, tonic load mode, walks, frequent, varied and tasty food, pleasant baths, a tonic shower, interesting activities, and so on.
You can try to solve the problem of self-esteem psychological methods, but, so far without resorting to the help of a specialist with the help of the so-called psycho-corrective statements, or formulas. Read them should be slowly, pondering the meaning.
There is nothing terrible, if you doubt your strength. Doubts are common to most people. This, so to speak, is a mandatory component of personal development. You should rather be alerted by the lack of doubt.
There is no reason to think about yourself reduced, if you do not have the best car, not the biggest house and not the most high education. After all, nothing will change if you get a better car! Anyway, a lot of people will have cars even better than you. Isn't it easier to change the approach and look for the meaning of life not in an endless series of acquisitions, not in a duel with other people, but in something more worthwhile? It's not about the estate, but in relation to the existing!
