Calories: how much?

Once I watched a science film about healthy eating, production seems to be the BBC. The journalist asked passers-by the same question: “What is calorie?” And no one could answer. Everyone said: this is something that is in the products. There are a lot of them in chocolate, but no one knew exactly what it really was.
I admit, I also learned a scientific definition only when I began to seriously become interested in issues of excess weight. In reference books it is written that calorie (more correctly kilocalorie) is the amount of energy needed to heat 1 liter of water at 1 ° C. I think it’s not necessary to remember this definition, because we are not in a physics lesson. But it’s important to understand that calorie is a unit of energy, and not something else. (In ordinary life, for simplicity, everyone talks about calories, not calories.)

A person spends a certain amount of energy per day. While he is going to work, walks in the park, takes a shower, even when he sleeps, the body constantly consumes energy.
It is believed that during the night a person loses three hundred calories, although nothing seems to be doing. In one hour of intense training, when you leave the gym in a completely wet T-shirt, eight hundred calories are spent. But just shaping more than five hundred of you will not pull.
If you do not go to extremes (sleep and sport), then the figures are approximately the following: in one hour spent lying down, a person loses only twenty-five calories, sitting - fifty, standing
- one hundred. When walking, of course, even more.
I write these lines, and on one of the TV channels the host says: “Celery is an ideal product for losing weight. When you eat it, a person spends more calories than he receives. ”
Yes it is. We spend energy when we eat. And also - when we talk, cook, clean up the apartment, think.
By the way, an important note: in the cold season, additional energy is needed to maintain normal body temperature, so you want to eat more in winter (this is just a good example when our “liters” are heated to “degrees”, as in the definition). That is why many women have extra centimeters on the waist and hips.
So, if you add up all the calories we need in order to live one day, you get quite a lot. For a man - 2500. A large woman should receive about 2200 calories per day, a miniature - 2000. For athletes, the daily calorie intake will be higher
- 3000 for men and 2500 for women.
It is important to understand that the body has nowhere else to take energy from, except from food. Every day a person should eat enough to ensure the functioning of his body.

The caloric content of each product is different, it is always indicated on the label, I think this should not be explained in detail. Suppose you eat a hearty breakfast, lunch, dinner - each with 500 calories or a little more. It will turn out 1500-1700. And another 500 calories will contain drinks drunk per day. In total, 2000-2200 will be released - as much as a woman needs in order not to recover and not lose weight.

If your body has not received the amount of energy necessary for normal work, it will turn to fat reserves and will draw energy from there. Then the most cherished desire will be fulfilled - you will lose weight! This is what many of the diets are based on.

Calories: how much?

  1. Calories to Calories
Why is it still not possible to lose weight to everyone? We have already emphasized that the reason for this lies in erroneous or inaccurate ideas about metabolism, about the mechanisms of accumulation and consumption of fat reserves. Mistakes give rise to doubts, and doubts force us to stop in indecision. And one of such very common misconceptions is to think that the more satisfying a product, the more
  2. Who to look in the eyes?
Let your eyes look directly, and let your eyelashes be directed right in front of you. Proverbs of Solomon. The retina of the eye is the part of the brain that has been brought to the periphery. Is that why so much is reflected in the eyes? It is known that the eyes are the most common target for the eyes of a person. Even when we see someone on TV, our gaze is most often focused on the speaker’s eyes, although
  3. Calories
The value of products continues to be measured in calories. Calorie is the same unit of measure as an inch or yard. A small calorie is the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of one gram (20 drops) of water by one degree. A large calorie is the amount of heat needed to heat 1 kg (about 2.25 pounds) of water per degree Celsius. Heat and energy are considered equivalents and
  4. Part 2: “how much”
Meanwhile, something completely different is happening with part 2. If part 1 shows what an object is, then the “how much” part measures the quantity: how much we have, and how much? This seems to be a little bit, but this one is much more. ↑ In the “how much” segment, the number of objects that we see is determined: four of them, three others and many others
  5. Figure 2: “how much” is the graph
Problems like “how much” are directly related to numbers. How many units have we sold? Do we have enough money to reach the end of the quarter? What is going on in the stock market? These kinds of questions, loading our way of seeing “how much”, make us constantly count (or at least try to count) the objects around us. Examples of problems like “how much”: I’m a financial analyst,
  6. Where and who lives better
Where is it better to live in order to maintain health? In a large industrial city like Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, or in remote Krasnoyarsk, or just on the periphery of the Far North in the city of Nadym, which in translation means: happy, kind, affectionate? Or choose a quiet life in the countryside? This question is not difficult, and we, residents of a large industrial city with a developed
  7. Talk about calories.
Most losing weight today carefully calculate the calorie content of the food eaten, but they do it in vain, because the calorie content of the food consumed by and large does not affect anything. Surprised? It is not a matter of the quantity of the food itself, but of its qualitative composition, in the proportions of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Mostly carbohydrates. It is they, getting into the body, that are converted into glucose, which, on one
  8. How much should we eat
The question of how much to eat has attracted the attention of many thinking men and women. But the answer was never given. So-called scientists have calculated our calorie needs. As I have already shown, this is a hoax. People are encouraged to eat what the appetite calls for. But the appetite is created by habit and can be developed so that it will require either little food, or very much. Excessive appetite
  9. Who needs practical psychology and why?
The intensification of practical psychological work in our country began in the 80s. In just ten years, the number of practical psychologists has significantly increased, psychological services and psychological consultations have begun to appear everywhere, psychological training has gained great popularity. However, this process proceeded most often spontaneously (Radzikhovsky, 1987). Social order for

  11. Step 2: answer the question “how much”
After we identified the players and realized what they were doing, we returned to the documents again to find quantitative data about each - something that allows us to change the “how much”. Having studied the mass of data, we decided that the first question “how much”, which we intend to study, will be related to the size of each company in terms of annual income. Here are the results seven companies showed with
  12. How long can a person live
Why do some people live longer than others? Are there “secrets” of longevity and can we use them? These questions are often asked not only by young people, but also by people of advanced age. A systematic study of the duration of human life began at the end of the 17th century, and the beginning was laid by the English astronomer Edmund Halley, the one who discovered Halley's comet, trying
  13. Well, how many times did the world repeat
Fable! What a Russian ear does not shake at the sound of the word! Ivan Andreevich Krylov, in the host of monkeys, bears and donkeys! It would seem that he had exhausted this gold mine so much that after it no one seriously wrote fables. Well, except, perhaps, Sergei Mikhalkov, but who knows those fables? But everyone knows Krylov. But let's, nevertheless, in order. As expected, the inventor or
  14. Low calorie meals (1800-2000 calories)
A diet with reduced calorie content (1800-2000 calories) is recommended for patients with diabetes mellitus, with overweight exceeding normal by 29-49%. The daily calorie content in this case is also limited, but without violating the ratio of the main food ingredients - proteins, fats and carbohydrates. PRODUCT SET FOR DAY Black bread 150 g. 15. Low calorie meals (900-1000 calories)
Nutrition with reduced calorie content is recommended for patients with diabetes mellitus, having an increased body weight exceeding normal by 60-100% (obesity III-IV degree). The main thing in this diet is a decrease in daily calories to 900-1000 calories due to a substantial decrease in the amount of fat in the diet and an increase in protein. It is recommended to include more vegetables in the menu, especially cabbage,
  16. How many sources of energy and substance do the human body have?
It is too early to speak about creating the prerequisites for developing a complete theory of human nutrition, because no core has been found that would allow us to combine the countless invaluable data accumulated by biochemists, biophysicists, physiologists, and psychologists into a harmonious system. In my opinion, any nutrition theory can be considered as such if it answers the main question arising from
  17. How many different poisons are needed to cure cancer?
It is known that some cancer cells may experience insensitivity to individual cytostatics or, during treatment, they may develop resistance (resistance, resistance) to them. Resistance can develop for several reasons: a change in the structure of cell enzymes or metabolic pathways in it, a modification of the assimilation and elimination of poison, etc. This type is especially dangerous.
  18. How much milk to give the child through a tube or from a cup
The first day of a child’s life A child should be given 60 ml of milk per kilogram of weight. The total amount of milk should be divided into eight feedings and feed the baby every three hours. The second day The child should be given 80 ml per kilogram of weight. Third day The child should be given 100 ml per kilogram of weight. From the fourth to the seventh day. Every day, increase the daily amount of milk by 20
