The first week of the program is usually the most difficult, because at this time there are the biggest changes. You are not only used to a completely different diet, but also have to spend time preparing new dishes, as well as get used to a new manner and new circumstances of eating. You may need to remember your motivation in order not to lose heart. Do what is required of you, and do not forget to rest. In the first week, some people experience discomfort due to the lack of sugar, caffeine and chemicals in the diet, especially if they had a too short phase of eliminating the diet. Headaches, irritability and depressed mood are usual phenomena in the first days, but all this very soon passes.

One patient once asked me in the middle of the first week of the program: "Last night I drank some wine and ate some bread. Does this mean that continuing the program does not make sense? "Not at all! You took a step back, but did not put an end to the whole enterprise. Continue the program as if nothing happened, and take this opportunity to prevent future disruptions.
If you perceive what happened as a mistake, then you are striving for change, and this in itself is extremely positive! Do not blame yourself - guilt is a very toxic emotion. Just treat the rest of the program with great diligence, and take two steps forward to compensate for the step back. Accelerate the process of cleansing, using for one or two days only liquid dishes.
