Age and drugs

There are age gradations in different geographic regions of the world when young people start using drugs.

The greatest number of cases of the use of narcotic substances falls on adolescence.

Introduction to drugs in our country, which is typical for other European countries, begins in adolescence. It all starts with tobacco, alcohol, volatile solvents (substance abuse) and cannabis.

Then comes the next stage - amphetamine, cocaine, barbiturates and other synthetic drugs. It all depends on social status, material capabilities and environment.

Personal motifs, which we discussed above, are also associated with age characteristics.

Curiosity, the need to be “one's own” in a peer group, “independence in actions”, as well as attempts to experience pleasure and excitement are especially characteristic of young people.

From the moment of the emergence of drug addiction (remember the expression “put on a needle”), the same motives influence the personality, but here the symptoms of the disease “are in full swing and need feeding”. As a result, there are economic difficulties, narcotic "breaking" and the desire to get out of this vicious circle by any means, at least for a minute.
Criminal thoughts, lack of control of his actions, lethargy and aggressiveness - these are the main personality traits of a young man that are “acquired” in a short period of time associated with drug use.

Use of drugs by adults is rarely dictated by curiosity. Here are other motives - the desire to achieve tranquility, ease, emotional balance, or "belonging to a clan, a social group."

If for young people the use of drugs that cause drug addiction indicates a desire to find some kind of "life incentives", then for adults it is a desire to avoid them.

And at the same time, if young people are seeking drugs forbidden by society (strong action), then adults, addicted to these drugs in their youth, try to use softer ones - in the form of cannabis or alcohol.

Due to the high cost of narcotic substances in most countries, drug addicts simply drink their alcohol. Their number is growing in an arithmetic progression, addicts themselves and people who do not use drugs are suffering, becoming victims associated with the illegal actions of drug addicts and alcoholics.
