Veterinary toxicology - a science that studies the properties of toxic (unacceptable to the body) substances; their effect on the body of agricultural and wild game animals, including birds, fish, bees; ways of turning poison in the body; accumulation in the organs and tissues of animals; excrement with milk and eggs. The task of veterinary toxicology also includes the development of methods for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of animal poisoning; establishing the maximum permissible levels of residual amounts (MDL) of pesticides and other toxic substances in feed and food products and methods for their analysis and conducting on this basis a veterinary and sanitary assessment of livestock products and feed.
