Brief description of the intestinal microflora of healthy people

In the intestines in adults and children, the bulk of the microflora are anaerobic and optionally anaerobic microorganisms. The role of intestinal microflora:

1) forms a normal intestinal mucosa;

2) is involved in the destruction of excess digestive secrets (for example, enterokinase and phosphatase);

3) is involved in the detoxification processes of certain pharmacologically active substances coming from the outside or formed during digestion;

4) synthesizes B vitamins, nicotinic, folic acid (E. coli, lactobacilli, bifidobacteria);

5) contributes to the normal development of lymphoid tissue of the intestine;

6) participate in the metabolism: intestinal microbes can affect gas metabolism, activating the function of the thyroid gland;

7) is an antagonist of pathogenic bacteria.

Some representatives of the intestinal microflora are opportunistic bacteria and, when the body's defenses are reduced, can cause various diseases.
Conditionally pathogenic microorganisms have pronounced biological plasticity, which allows them to adapt to existence in various environmental situations. For some, the natural habitat is the human body, for others - the body of individual animal species, and for some the external environment. The following conditionally pathogenic bacteria live in the human intestine: E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Enterobacter, Serratia, Providentia, Pseudomonas.

The entire intestinal microflora is divided into: - obligate (main microflora); - optional part (conditionally pathogenic and saprophytic microflora); Obligatory microflora. Bifidobacteria are the most significant representatives of obligate bacteria in the intestines of children and adults. These are anaerobes, they do not form a dispute and
